I could see EL5 proposal on the horizons if TFL considers that to give compensation to the ULEZ UlEZ is here now and the Superloop is rolling out. I can’t see them going for this. These are all just ideas on drawing boards and most will not progress beyond that and if they do they will be years in the making. Fair point, aswell as the funding which they wasted on.

I would like to see the Finsbury Park to Ally Pally Northern Heights line re-introduced as a very light rail route (avoiding the old Highgate Station though and instead taking Muswell Hill Road) potentially with an extension further onto Wood Green. What are the chances of this happening? Next to nothing no doubt Would be even cooler if a branch to Friern Barnet/New Southgate were constructed. I think Jago Hazzard came up with a similar idea about a year and a half ago, albeit with less use of the old railway alignment. Overall, I think it's a good idea. Maybe it could be extended to Manor House via Turnpike Lane and Harringay Green Lanes stations to relieve congestion from bus route 29, as well as the Piccadilly line.

The 29 has just seen a frequency cut in the past 2 years and the Piccadilly Line is set to get a massive frequency overhaul as part of the signalling upgrade and NTFL rolling stock entering service. I don't think it would be necessary to extend it particularly, especially for an area with an extremely good LU network. Finsbury Park to Wood Green via Highgate and Muswell Hill is perfectly reasonable.
Other light rail projects should be pursued in London first, I quite liked TFLs suggestion many moons ago for an Ilford to Bexleyheath DLR via Gallions Reach and Thamesmead. Not too sure really on the Sutton tram though, others could give better insight here, but is it really a good idea putting even more pressure onto the Morden branch of the Northern Line? People cannot get seats at Tooting Broadway already, would this problem be pushed even further back to South Wimbledon or Colliers Wood? I do think the off road Sutton Town Centre to Wimbledon idea is the better idea for tram operation, perhaps there could even be a relook into the Streatham and Tooting extensions of the Croydon Tram Network

Croydon worked brilliantly because majority of the roads the tram runs along were either quiet streets or wide roads that could accommodate tram infrastructure and motor traffic in tandem - in Streatham, the only wide road you could make an argument for (and even then, it would have some holes in it) is a section of Streatham High Road between Streatham Common South Side & Streatham Station as it's out of the question to even think about going further north because there simply isn't any adequate room to do so.
