Hope if he is proven guilty he won't do what Phillip Schofield and Huw Edwards did to attract sympathy (Both using mental health as an excuse)

Huw Edwards' struggles are well-documented. I’ve had family go into mental health facilities and believe me their struggles didn’t cause them to inappropriately message under 18s. It caused them to act out of character but not in the same way as Schofield or Edwards. |

I have no sympathy for either person, they both knew what they did was wrong but did so anyway. They both did it for publicity |

There is a difference between someone suffering mental health issues and what Huw Edwards and Phillip Schofield did. I have no sympathy for either person, they both knew what they did was wrong but did so anyway. They both did it for publicity There is however, still a difference between what they did (which was wrong) and what Russell Brand has been accused of which is one or two levels beyond. Whether the other two did it for publicity is up for debate and I don't think anyone said you should have sympathy or not, but no one truly knows whether they had mental issues or not either - it's all people's views still. |

I’m not condoning Russel Brand but you need to wait for all the facts and any court cases to go to trial. I really don’t like these type of threads on the forum. |

We have had several cases in the past like Rolf Harris and Harvey Weinstein facing similar allegations which turned out to be true Yes but you can't condemn someone until allegations are proven otherwise no matter what we all may think of them (and my opinion of Brand was already low). See the Benjamin Mendy allegations where the overwhelming majority thought he did it in regards to his case and yet he was tried and found not guilty in a court of law despite having his contract terminated. He subsequently moved back to France and I really don't blame him given the abuse he would of suffered. |
