How’s the patronage on the U7 since the double decking? Does it need them?

How’s the patronage on the U7 since the double decking? Does it need them? My own U7 in July was 10 minutes late. Even then the loadings were modest but not that substantial. Mind you, that was Saturday early afternoon, which gives few clues as to potential schoolday loadings.

Seen a discussion elsewhere about LTs and mid life refurbishment, it was suggested that Wrightbus was due to carry these out but as we know the original company is no more. I am just curious who carried out the refurbishment on the few that have been refurbished at Abellio? Also have any more been completed?

The ones that have been refurbished were completed at RGI Bus and Coach in Coventry

The double deckers on the 350 are back from next Monday, plus additional peak buses on the 130, 350 & U7.
EDIT: The E400 Hybrids currently allocated to the C3 will be used on the 350

Hopefully, the 350 is done at weekends as well like the U7 is currently as I plan to ride the U7 this Saturday so would also do the 350 as well Once again, kudos to Abellio for their communication online, wish other operators would seriously consider this.

Go Ahead seem to be doing quite well as of late, not of the standard of Abellio but certainly up and coming. Hopefully this paves the way for other operators too.

I did notice they've done a bit of recruitment recently for social media advisors. As you rightly say, hopefully more operators can take to social media.

What happened to U7’s Enviro 200 Darts? They've transferred to TF as extras for route 481

Great news and will provide a handy capacity upgrade - would be nice if some of those routes were considered for decking in future too. One thing I would add is depending on how long this situation goes on, it may prevent Abellio from using the C3's E400Hs either for a retain on the E9 or for any routes they win though this can be addressed either if there's a deferred conversion to hybrids or could be a cascade of buses if the 49, 156 and 344 are retained and new buses ordered for a least one of those routes (156 will need new buses anyway) then more buses come into play. Of course there's nothing to stop Abellio just ordering new buses for the E9 in the event of a retain.

I saw 9404 earlier today in Sutton earlier today, and what an INCREDIBLY fast bus that was. It accelerated so quickly from the traffic lights after stopping at Sutton Park Road whilst having quite a large amount of students. It will be a shame to see it go once Covid is gone, even though it's around 14 years old, it seems like it's one of the fastest buses in London!

Unrestricted I'm pretty sure they can reach 70+ mph.
