Doing some quick calculations with the route losses of routes 49 and 414, the PVR reduction on route 344 and the pending move of route 415, Battersea will have a working total PVR (excluding spares) of 138 by the end of November 2021. This is the smallest total depot PVR the depot has had in quite a while and leaves a lot of space at the depot as the depot can hold over 200 buses. Still on the optimistic side, a PVR of 138 is still a healthy amount of work and this makes Battersea viable for any route gains in the coming years either in surrounding areas near the depot or remotely (similar to route 27's current operation under Abellio). QB is in quite a strategic location so plenty of potential to replace these losses, especially having gained the 27 which is not particularly close to QB. The 63 gain may also result in something moving to QB such as the 196. The present¹ plan is to reportedly move the 415 over, but would be interesting to know if crew changes will be done at Kennington Church, which is already done there by the 3 and 159. ¹ - could change like it did with the 270

I agree with it and the changeover point could be at Vauxhall for 196 if it moves to QB but wouldn’t it also make sense to move the route to BC I mean the route used to ran there in them Connex/Travel London days and BC is not too far away from Brixton or Norwood Junction

Especially when I believe WL and QB are both closer in terms of mileage.

Hmm I mean they’re both close to the 196 and for BC the deadrun would be much more better since it’s just from Norwood Junction to Beddington which is about like 10-15 minutes

According to a reliable source, it has now been confirmed that the 14/64 reg E40H hybrids are being retained to replace the diesel E400s at Battersea next year.

I believe the ones from the C3, E1 and 49 are enough to fully replace the diesels on the 156 and 345.

Makes sense as diesels are going out of fashion in London but are very popular outside the M25 especially the E400 diesels so will have a high resale value than the hybrids. On another note, I am so pleased by this news as these 14/64 reg E40H hybrids are just wonderful buses. Nothing beats the whooshing noise for me .

Especially when I believe WL and QB are both closer in terms of mileage. I understand the 315 drivers will be doing their changeovers at Norwood Garage. If ferry vehicles are to be used between there and BC then theoretically the 196 drivers could utilise the ferries with live changeovers around the Norwood Garage area. In saying this mind you there could be the danger of route reliability, for example if the ferry's late.

Today is supposedly the last day that 285 and 490 will serve New Road bus station in Feltham.

Today is supposedly the last day that 285 and 490 will serve New Road bus station in Feltham. Good, it’s an annoying double run. The 490 hasn’t been using it by the way. That has been running direct along the A312.

Poor 9526 is VOR with a cylinder defect. That and 9525 are the last remaining nippy E400s at QB. Hopefully it will be repaired.

Shame they couldn't have used the spare enviros to DD the 490. Older buses, plus would need TfL say so.
