The 481 lost the short MMC's a while ago and has been allocated dual door single deckers in the main with it's short MMC's used as school extras as well as 8140 allocated to the 367 at BC It will be interesting to see the fate of the 481's paper allocated buses, the 9.0m MMC's (except 8140 which is continuing at Abellio for sure). They will most likely be used on the S2/439 tenders as they are newer, higher chances to win the tender compared to ex-K1 buses. As for the 5x dual-door 66reg MMCs they will probably most likely be sold on like all the other 5x dual-door 66reg MMCs, no work for them to do. Abellio does have some spare buses. I would be disappointed, as I have so far missed out on one. Now they have moved to BC I'm sure they are ideal for route S4.

I have never travelled on a route P13 MMC. I thought I'd read they had moved to BC. They would be good for route S4, not just for the capacity but as single-door E200s would be so easy to sell on.

Some drivers don’t like them because they say the transmission is jerky. Personally I thought they were fantastic to drive. The best place to get them is on rail replacement where they are known to be pushed. They’ve put in rare appearances on Stratford to Richmond, City Airport to Canning Town and Ealing Broadway to Slough in the past. Routes like the P13 and S4 are pretty slow going! youtu.be/FVpz3ADF6u8youtu.be/TlAYnDmymFEyoutu.be/bSgij1bUAG0

I can't tell for sure whether the ex-route P13 MMCs are due to become the "new normal" on route S4. Half of the S4's contracted batch are currently doing GW's school extras (due to the existing extra buses being used for the 315). So once they end (in the summer), I assume the plan would be to reunite them with the S4. In which case I'm not sure what would happen to the MMCs

Even route S4 is just Mon-Sat as far as I recall.

According to a reliable source, the following buses have gone on loan to London United: 8321/8322/8323 8520 8118-8120 have returned to Abellio meanwhile. Not sure what they’ll be used for, presumably for GW’s school extras to send 8201-8204 off for refurb perhaps?

I don’t think allocations are that tight are they particularly with the EB routes now departing and loans to there presumably able to return?

Probably to allow for more Covid related capacity increases on routes like the 470 which can take longer buses in turn freeing longer vehicles for the K5 which can also take longer vehicles than it currently uses.

School extras and the refurbishment of buses for new K5 contract, and the length restrictions on some routes

8578 was on the H20 earlier this morning (19/05/2021), I didn’t think that anything longer than an 8.9m E200 would be able to run on the route due to the tight corner at the Heath Road - Whitton Road junction.
According to LVF 8570 is also on the H20.

Lots of bad driver and controller attitude on the diabellio 381 tonight. Is it always this bad?
