Afternoon folks. As the E9 has transferred to Metroline does anyone know what will happen to it's 09-reg buses? A reliable source says that batch will be loaned over to RAPT

Afternoon folks. As the E9 has transferred to Metroline does anyone know what will happen to it's 09-reg buses? Most likely those ones are planned to be withdrawn especially with the same 09reg batch allocated to the 345 are soon going to be replaced with the 2014 E400 hybrids from the 49, C3 & E1.
EDIT: They could stay for a bit longer to replace the remaining 56/07 reg batch until more hybrids are available.
An easy, if only temporary, next home would be WS on the U7, and to possibly even free up the 14 reges, sending them back to QB for the 156 and 345.

Noticed that today the 345, 414 & 156 are entirely 94/95x (at the time of checking) - normally has a few 24xx's - is this significant - are the Hybrid's now doing something different / a result of the recent Route transfer's ??

A good number of hybrids need to be sent away for refurbishment for the 156 and 344, both their new contracts starting later this year.

Is the 344 going to continue with the 61 reg or are they going to be replaced by stuff off the 49/C3/E1?

I imagine the 344 will gain the 14/64 platers but wouldn’t rule out the 61 reg leaving the fleet...perhaps instead allocated to the 345¹, replace E40Ds in the RR pool or become general spares throughout the fleet. ¹ - contract renewal i believe due in 2024

Is the 344 going to continue with the 61 reg or are they going to be replaced by stuff off the 49/C3/E1? The 49's E40H batch should exactly fit the 156's new allocation plus part of the 344 (supplementing the MMCs). The 344's PVR will also be reduced on the new contract, so won't need as many as the 61reg. This leaves the 14reg from routes C3/E1 spare, plus the 344's 61reg E40Hs, and at a later point, the U5's MMCs too. These hybrids could replace the 09reg on route 345, though I could also see them used for new tender bids (such as the 13 or 111). Allocations may also depend on whether the 350's DD conversion is permanent, or simply to free up SDs for use as extras. If Abellio keep the remaining ex-C10 16reg after school extras are withdrawn, there should be enough SDs in the fleet to cover PVR increases etc, such as on the 490. Is the 350 busy enough to need DDs permanently? Depending on these various factors, it should be possible for all of the 09 and 59reg E40Ds to be withdrawn after all known changes take place, unless Abellio want to keep a small number for rail replacement etc. I could also see the 3x 12reg E40Ds from the 414 kept in the fleet.

The 350 pre Covid was busy during the peaks because of Stockley Park which is why there have been several elements of double decker operation between it & the H50 in the past. Post Covid, I suspect what happens at Stockley Park might determine what happens with the 350. The 59 reg from the 414 certainly aren’t staying and have already begun to be withdrawn. We don’t know if the U7 is remaining double decker and if it does, it will probably gain something younger than current. I don’t see the ex C10 MMC’s staying, suspect the 290’s 61 reg examples will stay and fill holes

Would swapping the 350 and U3 routeings south of West Drayton and decking the U3 work?

Also noticed that the 350's E200MMC batch have slowly returned to WS, with 4 of the original 6 running on the 350 today or yesterday. TF seems to be sticking with their plentiful supply of Enviro 200s as spares. If the 350 decking is temporary the deckers can return to QB and allow old buses to start being disposed of early in preparation for the loss of the 49 and 414.
