According to LOTS the transfer of the U5 to DH has been delayed until the electrics are ready.

How come the 267 isn’t on the MMC’s blinds despite being at the same garage as the 285?
Or it might be, but I would highly doubt that since abellio has impressingly had a 100% allocation since it’s takeover.

Not every LT route ends up on conventional bus blinds - IIRC, the MMC’s at QB don’t have any of the LT routes on the blinds apart from the 415 due to it originally being a MMC allocated route whilst the old body Enviros should only have the 3, 415 & N3 included IIRC

Not every LT route ends up on conventional bus blinds - IIRC, the MMC’s at QB don’t have any of the LT routes on the blinds apart from the 415 due to it originally being a MMC allocated route whilst the old body Enviros should only have the 3, 415 & N3 included IIRC Some of the old body E40Hs have full 159 blinds, in particular the ex 49 batch.

As the 285 is the only DD conventional route at TF, it actually uses a GW/WS blind set. It will have the likes of the 427, 482, 207 etc on it.

TF gain the 671 (effectively from new school year in September), so going to have to do something with the blinds anyway Probably add H32 on blinds at same time, if they do a new west London double deck blind set, not that I know if TF would get a combined set with DH or GW (WS has now closed)

They would have considered that before the bid, since they haven’t they considered using LTs which may have something to do with TUPEd drivers already been trained on the H32. The MMC’s could be used for a new bid, perhaps against the H98 - but at the point AV is done

Oh my goodness the Abellio MetroCities have got that awful grumpy face that the 200 Me’s have 😭 what an absolute monstrosity.
Even the demo picture a few pages back didn’t have it and looked way better than these! And it looks like they only have 20 seats, dear oh dear.

The MMC’s could be used for a new bid, perhaps against the H98 - but at the point AV is done You have to consider the dates bids are submitted, and can’t keep submitting bids using same buses, until have definitely not won, otherwise might end up with 2 routes for one set of buses. Timing suggests they could have bid for 417 with U5 buses. Abellio will also have had to decide what they want to do about the 345 which is using their oldest buses and contract ends next April (the bids went in February and results are due anyday), lose it and existing buses can finish contract, or did they use some newer spare buses in the bid?

I also think that Optare has cheaply botched the front resigned to accommodate the hidden wiper handles and the camera mirrors which look completely out of place when comparing the camera mirrors designs of other bus manufacturers. Also, who else thinks that the thick front pillars for the mirrors could potentially create an unnecessary extra blind spot for the drivers.

Whilst I prefer the front on the Metroline provincial example, I think that redesigned front looks a bit better on the Metrocity than the Metrodecker. Guess I’m the only one looking forward to riding these when they go into service though I will be sad to see the temporary allocation go especially as currently due to a diversion, I now have an extra bus to Tulse Hill & Herne Hill to catch 😂
