ISA is already being put one by one at BC. The 109 YY64s will be first to have it fitted then the SN17s.

Out of chance, I managed to ride one of the new Metrocity's (1001) for the 322 earlier today between Brixton & West Norwood. Personally, they don't look as bad in the flesh though I've always liked Optare styling and the blinds do seem to be pretty good layout wise. The interior is nice but disappointing it doesn't match the double deck spec with it having no phone holders or new I-Bus screen - overall capacity is 44 with 20 seated (no middle rear seat) & 24 standing. The ride was good and performance seemed fine although we were on 20mph roads throughout so not really something to judge by but the acceleration from standing start was impressive like many other electric vehicles.
As for the 322 itself, it was still operating very poorly with 2 arriving together at Brixton (the second one was a MMC). By the time we reached Herne Hill, 2 became 3 322's with a West Norwood blinded one joining in (for those who aren't familiar, it has a frequency of every 12 minutes) and this was before the road closures with the roads being very quiet

I guess I'll start with something I rarely saw until QB. Late last buses. Early on (understandably) and nowadays whenever there was an accident during the day, it causes a ripple effect where even if say 6 hours have passed since the RTA was cleared, the last 322 could be in service at 1:30 (timetabled to end nearly 00:45). The only instances I remember in my life until now was incidents were some of the YY15s were stuck in first gear, SE235 I remember one night taking excruciatingly long on it's last rounder back to Clapham. Bunching on the route as you describe is very common on the route, to the point there is pairs of bunchings on the route in both directions sometimes, which is funny as it is morbid as a passenger experience. At some point a conga line of 4 buses was possible in the first few weeks. A positive is the West Norwood curtailment does reach Martell Road as it's last stop, something which was a Russian Roulette game under SW if you'd be dumped at Norwood Road or not. Between GAL with excessive curtailments (from it's route record, a combination of turns were executed many times daily) and Abellio with excessive bunchings, the 322 as a route seems impossible to manage in it's current frequency/allocation successfully since roadworks entered it's life in 2019. That said SW managed well until 2019, performing better than 432. Ever since it reverted to every 12 in August 2021 it went downhill until it went back to every 13 until they lost it, still a relatively poor performer. If I had to pick who was worse, on the basis of bunchings that constantly follow for hours on end, I'd go for Abellio. Also on the basis GAL did operate it well for a few years which I can't ignore or deny.

I do wish Abellio had some routes near where i live although I live in Hendon so the nearest garage would be too far. That said, they could maybe have bid for the 13 when that was up for tender last year, aa their Battersea garage is very close to Victoria.

Also they are rather loud for an electric vehicle, not sure this is something worth mentioning. Maybe it was that particular vehicle. A much better upgrade the 322 deserves from using ZF enviro’s for the past 20 years. I expect more of these to be ordered for residential routes as it can take tight roads really well.

Before that, it had various batches of Allison Darts for almost all of it's existence

A pity other electric types aren't generally quite as loud as it gives them that bit more character.

I expect more of these to be ordered for routes like S4 for its new tender
