They probably wouldn't see much usage but in the scenario of several of the 267s LTs not being roadworthy its a hell of a lot better than single deckers on the 267. The 267 has an isolated batch of LTs and nearly every LT route has seen conventional buses on it since conversion, even garages with more than on LT route. The spare Enviro 400s may see little use but I think its necesarry to have one as a failsafe. I wonder whether the Enivor 400s at BC will be released when the 407 converts to DD if so then one of them could move to TF as a spare However same could be said for any garage which has a few deckers whether they be LTs or not. Apart from the 211 Abellio are probably the best operator at keeping their LT routes free from conventional vehicles. The 159 has only had two strays ignoring that MMC that was on it for a trial, the 68 hasn't had any at all. Worst case scenario they can run a bus from QB to Hammersmith, they're going to be running buses from QB to the 27 anyway. Keeping one at TF for the off chance it "might" be needed is just going to be a waste, especially as you'll end to keep it roadworthy and it's hard to do that when there's no other decker routes in the garage to send it out on. You'll be spending money maintaining it every week when it may only get sent out once every few months. Even then, if they were desperate, they'd just loan in something conventional from WS or the new Southall garage (haven't bothered to learn it's new code) - as you say, it would be a waste housing one just for an unlikely scenario.

The speed limiter for all of Abellio's hybrids is set at 46mph and they are ok to go on the M4 as long as they stay on the inside lane. It's the route used when we collect buses to borrow for rail replacement. I actually thought that E40Hs max out around that speed anyway with the Volvo hybrids like the WHVs having a higher top speed. Hmm, feels like they're limited rather than maxed out. As for the WHVs, one driver claimed the RIBAS flagged him for doing 73mph on the motorway!

There is a sign on the dashboard of 9524 that's reads this bus is for 414 and C2 only. Not sure why this bus can't go on the 156,49,C3 and 345?

Low Emission Bus Zone on St John's Hill/Lavender Hill. But 95** go on the 156 all the time and the C3 doesn't serve lavender hill. The C3 serves St. John’s Hill which is part of the corridor. I’m not surprised to hear that non compliant buses are used on the corridor as it’s happened and still happens on a number of other green corridors.

What will the 490 be getting for it’s new contract? I’ve heard that the 490 is getting the E200 MMCs from the C10 is that true?

Initially it is mainly staying with same fleet as now The C10 might release some buses later, but a handful of other buses may be used as well

Having said that though it may well receive a few of the ex 407 E200's should other buses be used as well. Would be pretty ironic if the 64 reg E200's followed their predecessors to the 490
