However, someone reported that a few of the 407s buses had been reblinded in the white blinds thread. That has nothing to do with it - they have a shared pool allocation. This will be split when a certain number will be sent elsewhere once the 407 is converted to DD operation, with the rest remaining for the 201. Those remaining are the ones which will receive new blinds Only two of the 407 batch have new blinds, 8839 and 8840 which makes me think they’re staying especially as the 490 only requires 8 of the ex 407 buses. However 8816 was fitted with new blinds and that was sent off lease months later so who knows

TF will soon be running most of FW’s former pre privatisation routes: 267,285,290,R68,R70. My favourite routes all under one roof. Quite pleased about that !
Also part of old 90B !

Just need the 71 to move back into FW and everything will indeed be under one roof (considering that TF and FW share a roof, that is). Even the 419 - successor to the old R69 - is at FW now.

I have to say the new Southall (Armstrong Way) depot is an excellent facility having seen it in the flesh. Has its own reversing bay now for training and everything is "in house". No doubt be busy recruiting many new drivers before their operation of 482/278/285 begin. Only negative thing is that there is no staff canteen and location is a little isolated, which means no greasy takeaways on break...or maybe that's a good thing

At Bridge Road, drivers would bring their own lunch, and leave it in the fridge until their meal relief. For example with the E5 drivers would deadrun into AB, and take their meal reliefs. The 195/207 both pass the garage so the changeoer point is Iron Bridge, meal reliefs on the E1/E9/E7/E10/E11 could be moved to Ealing Broadway with E5 meal reliefs in Southall or alternatively all routes could have meal reliefs in Greenford

How much space will there be left at TF once the 267 and 285 move in? Obviously the 285 does give TF some additional space running 24hrs, but the garage must be getting close to full

The first of the 407’s double deckers has finally entered service on the route , and rather fittingly it’s 2407 that becomes the first . It subbed 8838 at around 4pm

Despite used to being fairly local to the 407 it was a route I never really liked. Not sure why as it was faster then the 154 but I guess it was the mostly well laden SDs that made it never comfortable. I'll have to take a ride again now it's DD.

I should imagine we’ll see the majority of 2401/2-9 before Saturday with the MMCs coming over for Saturday. Obviously transferring 2401 would be an extra bus but this would fit well to replace the 09 which currently is a spare for the 109 and the other 09 should go as well due to the school journey on the 407 being discontinued.
