Spotted 2418 and LT638 doing route learning duties along the 27 route with a number of drivers on these buses at Hammersmith today. Just spotted that exact same bus but this time at Trafalgar square. My guess 24 route learning.

Very interesting, wonder what duties would look like. Ferry cars have caused nothing but trouble on the 207 and I hear they are looking to implement a "shuttle" system to mitigate lost mileage caused by lack of ferry cars available for drivers...oh and don't forget about the countless parking tickets which have been issued for parking on pavements/double yellows at the changeover point. Perhaps they will implement this system for the 278 too. Would also be nice to have meal breaks at LHR. Good they're getting parking tickets. Just not on with all their cars being abandoned on the pavement, bus lane or even the normal traffic lane in the westbound direction. Even the driver changeover itself causes unnecessary issues for other road traffic and only contributes to the negative impression about buses and bus driver behaviour. The driver changeovers should really be in the bus lanes outside Ealing Hospital, as G did with the 195 with the 3 operators (ECT, First and Metroline) that had it from 2008 (extension to Brentford) to 2017 (loss to Abellio). The 607's changeover point should certainly be outside Ealing Hospital. Its so frustrating that they've added a new stop at Iron Bridge. I wish buses would only call at Iron Bridge if they were due to do a changeover although this may be unpopular with passengers who'd want a full time stop.

It's only one stop, plus it's cheaper to stop at Iron Bridge for changeovers than drivers travel to Ealing Hospital. Similarly, you cant stop occasionally at Iron Bridge, only to say to passengers "sorry you cant get off whilst we hang around here for a while."

The latest iBus inconsistency. Buses on route C10 now display ‘Victoria Station’ on the screens while all others just display ‘Victoria’.

Quick question. Why was 10.5M buses ordered for the R70 when 10.9M buses can do the full route?

Quick question. Why was 10.5M buses ordered for the R70 when 10.9M buses can do the full route? I don't know the R70 that well but maybe it's because it has some tight turns through its route wherever it is and Abellio probs felt that it would be safe to order 10.5m

I know the 81** go on the route fairly often but you might be right about there being tight turns alone it. On a separate note can anyone confirm that Pools in the Park the 490 stand can take double deckers? I know they have appeared on tube strike extras but unless I'm mistaken they terminated at Richmond station. If so it will be great to see some double deckers on the route once TF gain the 285. Both the 490 and 371 should have got double deckers but the routes were overlooked so single deckers it is.

I've driven the route a few times and the only issue I can think of is that some of the tree branches on the road into there might be a bit on the low side.

8502, 8522 and 8524 have seemingly been stood down at BC, having not been in service since the start of September. Wonder if these have now been withdrawn for good or are they expected to move to another garage?

Wonder if these have now been withdrawn for good or are they expected to move to another garage? Yet 8526 is still continuing and lumbering on both 433 and 201? What is it’s sole purpose as the only reason I can think of is being a refurb float for the 201 enviro refurbishment, though I don’t think BC are in a hurry to do them

With just under a month before the Abellio takeover, 2418 and 2479 were doing route learning duties along the 27 route today.
