Do we know what the PVR will be of the 278 yet? The route in question will have a PVR of 10. Allocation for route 278 will consist of 11 buses (7 new and 4 existing [2410-2413]).

I believe the 490 had a PVR increase to 16 upon renewal? But that’s not something that’s yet shown up on LBR. I thought it was retained with the existing PVR of 15? Even if it’s 16, there are spare ex 407 examples already at TF IIRC. I suspect you’re right, I never read anything else after the tender award was announced it was increase to 16 so I assume it just went dead.

I do wonder if ADL can build /deliver all the 278's buses in time or will some spare Enviro 400s have to cover in the short term.

I’m sure the 56-reg E400s which are all spare will be fine just until the buses arrive.

As I mentioned before, I would be surprised if the cut happens before the mayoral election. When the 427's cut eventually happens, the spare 17 reg MMCs could always be used on another route.

I really hope the 17-reg MMCs stay at Abellio West London, they're excellent beastly buses which I really love - by far the best thing about Abellio West London is their common user pool.

Except from when single door buses appear on the E7 and 195 Good point, it's ridiculous how often I see single door buses on the E7, that route seems to have a crap batch. I think maybe one of the C10's MMCs should be sent to GW when that route goes electric to help ease the shortage.

Apart from its a new route that requires the latest TfL bus standard Do you seriously think TfL will launch a route with secondhand non-EuroVI buses without the latest safety equipment, whilst they are desperate to plug how buses help reduce London emissions and pollution Actually they are launching 4 (5 If include N140) routes 7 Dec so not likely to go unpublicised (must be about 18 years since so many routes started together and a rare chance to have a celebratory public launch.

They could just spin the whole improvements to buses in the suburbs waffle without even acknowledging the vehicle type, and just stating that introducing these bus routes will help cut down on car usage.
