The 270 will only have the older Enviro 400's until the rest of it's MMC's are delivered I know but is there a potential of e400 occasionally doing the route even after the mmc's fill it up since it could be based at QB where the e400 are? We get that you want the old E400s to stay you've made that abundantly clear but you've just got to accept that their time is limited. I'd much rather they stayed instead of these incredibly dull so-called "smart" hybrids but that's life.

Abellio and Tower Transit have never operated any school routes. I know that Tower Transit’s predecessor First ran school routes but did Abellio’s predecessor Travel London operate any?

Looking at Wikipedia, seems that the only school routes they operated were for Surrey Council so no TfL school routes

I wouldn't have minded those E40Ds except that they're generally gutless in performance compared to Go Ahead's Es. On that basis i welcome the Smarts knowing we'll get the odd regular hybrids from the 109/407 in play.

Back in Travel London days they were fast and near comparable with the TAs! Some buses are derestricted at random - 9401, 9419, 9438 and 9458 have been alright in recent months!

Yes did quite loved them in their Travel London days, remembering them gear holding that bit extra in 2nd gear...which i believe they still do just a lot slower. Their present restriction on the majority is reminiscent of when London General restricted their VC¹ class Volvo B10M after a driver flung one of them to its side for his wreckless driving. I was gutted that i never got to drive them before their restrictions as some of them were actually not too bad post-govern, unless on the hilly 196. Back to the E40Ds, would have been superb if BC had retained the 157 with the 09 reg version but unrestricted. ¹ - barring VC28 which also had modified torque break to match the then incoming NV Class variants

Where did the 452 stand when it terminated at Wandsworth Road Station pre 2016?

Where did the 452 stand when it terminated at Wandsworth Road Station pre 2016? Union Road I believe. It turned off before and went round the block to stand.

Where did the 452 stand when it terminated at Wandsworth Road Station pre 2016? The stand still exists and is stop Z opposite Penbury Street on Wandsworth Road with Westbury Street just after the railway bridge being the first stop. Last stop was the Wandsworth Road Station stop. Buses would run via Albion Avenue, Union Grove & Union Road to access the Wandsworth Road stand

Last stop was the Wandsworth Road Station stop. Buses would run via Albion Avenue, Union Grove & Union Road to access the Wandsworth Road stand I remember the original plan was for buses to stand somewhere on the back streets - possibly Union Grove? There was an existing stand that was hardly ever used. However local residents objected to this stand being used regularly, so the stand was relocated to Wandsworth Road, which was initially marked as a temporary stand until the arrangement was made permanent. I can't remember if the 452 actually used the back-street stand when it first started, or if the residents had already objected before the route started.

Drove past BC earlier and I noticed there were some E400MMC smart hybrids with the number blind set to 000, usually the McKenna preset. I’m not sure but this could have been one of the outstanding buses for the 270 that have been delivered recently

If the smart "hybrids" are anything like their 2016 diesel variants, after 4-5 years of constant usage we could start hearing all sorts of sounds and screeches over time. Albeit quite nuanced / muted, since these are much quieter than the fully diesel MMCs... fingers very much crossed...

A nice map found on Twitter with a overview of all the Abellio routes that they currently operate across London.

Ever since I came back to London, I have noticed some funny noises on some of them MMC’s on the 62. Hah I thought it would only be a matter of time. I caught 10319 and 329 about two weeks ago on the 169 and 145 resp. But to my surprise they sounded fine. My main experience has been on First’s YX66 MMCs in Bath, Somerset, which are subject to ascending 200m of elevation each hour of every day, all year long. (Up to the university at the top of it). But perhaps the smart MMCs will fair better for longer in London (especially without having the torment of mega hills on the 25/425/270/285 routes AFAIK).
