They did similar practices years ago with power blind retrofits on some Volvos and Enviros upon new contracts such as the 152 and 157. Perhaps this may've been on the cards for at least one of QB's contracts, given that some buses still haven't yet been refurbished. This practice would have been ideal for a handful of buses at Go Ahead's Q for the night pool, reminiscent of when Titans T929 and T1000 had dot matrix displays fitted There was a rumour that new contracts would begin to ask for existing buses to be fitted with LEDs so maybe this is the start of it. Certainly, the earlier electric vehicles should be converted when they go in for refurbishment TfL has never issued a specification for LED displays. A draft was produced by someone who had no understanding of the technology.

That is as far as it's remained since that post - no confirmation or denials from anyone in the know. There was no mention of TfL issuing a specification for LED displays.

The crusade continues with 2550 also now done I wonder why Abellio seem to be doing this, especially with this batch of vehicles which seems an odd choice, 8/9 years old so not a relatively huge amount of time left in London service Could also be a trial from TfL to help retrofit some Hybrids that are still in service that may be older, as there are too many issues with blindless buses in service as McKenna are making a limited amount of the traditional blinds. Would love to see Arriva put some of these similar units in their hybrids too. There are too many 'bandit' buses with paper sheets, (see 262 and 473) LED blinds get rid of this issue for buses changing garages Saw a retrofitted MMC on the 344 yesterday

I saw an MMC on the 344 that looked like it had taken a swipe from a van or car with a deep dent down the length of the offside. I can't remember the fleet number, driver was parked up on Old Broad Street near the London Wall junction as if to be on a break. Well done to TUK for taking the lead in this, hopefully if it is an existing bus retrofit program, then that's great, and other operators will join in. Saw an older SEe running light displaying a dayglo 'Not In Service' blind It was on the 444 this lunchtime. I think the age of the SmartBlind is drawing to a close and Hanover and McKenna will push operators to buy their LCD / LED offerings instead. If it helps with presentation, then that's great Hopefully LVF can be updated to reflect the new blind changes with an 'e' suffix so they are easier to look out for

1002 has moved from GW to QB Hopefully, electrification work is progressing at GW and the rightful YJ73 batch and the correct GB Kites can begin to transfer over for the E5 and E7 respectively.

Don’t know, it was high up and the hole in the glass was in the black surround near the rear destination blind/screen, which cracked the remaining pane of glass including the rear window, so it couldn’t have been shattered from inside the bus. Either something must have thrown someone at the back of the bus (quite likely, the hole was the right shape/size for it to be a stone), or something like a tree branch must have gone through if the driver reversed into it, not sure
