It’s carnage now even this time of night! Locals roads are at a standstill. I am dreading the Silvertown tunnel opening as local roads just won’t cope with even the slightest issue. It should actually be fine in theory as if there's an issue there'll be another tunnel to take the strain. I'm not convinced personally. All it takes is the slightest hiccup on the A13 or either of the tunnels and everywhere will grind to a halt. I think the approach to the new Silvertown tunnel is really poor from the westbound A13 as cars have to come the slip road at Canning Town then head along Silvertown Way then off and down to the tunnel. The other option is to double back from Leamouth. Having both tunnels so close seems to be asking for trouble but time will tell.

Due to planned works and an accident there are some lengthy bus diversions taking place in and around Plaistow / Custom House and Canning Town. Lots of roads / stops are not severed. The 300 is particularly bad as it has a double impact.
Planned Works
241 / 325
NEW BARN STREET: From 08:30 Saturday 06 January to 18:00 Sunday 07 January, routes 241 and 325 are on diversion from Freemasons Road/Canning Town Recreation Ground to Balaam Street due to sewer works. Buses towards Plaistow are not serving the stops Newham Way and Denmark Street. Stops on New Barn Street are not served.
300
NEW BARN STREET: From 08:30 Saturday 06 January to 18:00 Sunday 07 January, route 300 is on diversion from Freemasons Road/Canning Town Recreation Ground to Canning Town Bus Station due to sewer works. Buses towards Canning Town are missing stops from Newham Way to Rathbone Market. Stops on New Barn Street and Barking Road are not served.
-------------------------------
Accident on the A13 / Prince Regent Junction
300
PRINCE REGENT LANE / NEWHAM WAY: Route 300 diverted both ways via Canning Town bus station, Silvertown Way, Victoria Dock Road, Royal Albert Way, Stansfield Road and Tollgate Road while the emergency services respond to a road traffic collision.
304
PRINCE REGENT LANE / NEWHAM WAY: Route 304 diverted both ways via Glen Road, Prince Regent Lane, Barking Road, Silvertown Way and Victoria Dock Road while the emergency services respond to a road traffic collision.
147 (Not sure which one is current)
PRINCE REGENT LANE / NEWHAM WAY: Route 147 diverted both ways via Barking Road, Canning Town, Silvertown Way, Victoria Dock Road and Prince Regent bus station while the emergency services respond to a road traffic collision.
PRINCE REGENT LANE: Route 147 is on diversion from Prince Regent Lane/Newham Way to Plaistow, Barking Road due to a road traffic collision. Buses towards Ilford are not serving the stops Bennett Road, Newham University Hospital/New Vic College and Wigston Road. Route 376 is diverted between Glen Road and Tollgate Road missing the stops Bennett Road and Newham Leisure Centre.
262
PRINCE REGENT LANE / NEWHAM WAY: Route 262 diverted both ways via Greengate Street, Barking Road, High Street South and Woolwich Manor Way while the emergency services respond to a road traffic collision.
473 (Again note sure which one is being used)
Add into the mix Beckton Road is also closed! getting onto the A13 will be a nightmare.
PRINCE REGENT LANE / NEWHAM WAY: Route 473 diverted both ways via The Broadway, Balaam Street, Barking Road, Silvertown Way and Victoria Dock Road while the emergency services respond to a road traffic collision.
PRINCE REGENT LANE: Route 473 is on diversion from Prince Regent Lane/Newham Way to Plaistow High Street/Balaam Street via Newham Way, Canning Town, Barking Road and Balaam Street due to a road traffic collision. Buses towards Stratford are missing the stops Bennett Road, Newham University Hospital/New Vic College, Wigston Road, Barking Road and Gad Close.

I think most cars approaching the Silvertown tunnel will be local and not from the A13, the road network around there means it'll be faster to use the Blackwall tunnel if you're already on the A13. If the A13 grinds to a half people can then keep moving by diverting to the Silvertown tunnel.

It should actually be fine in theory as if there's an issue there'll be another tunnel to take the strain. It’s the same approach road on the southern side, the Silvertown tunnel access road leaves the A102 a few hundred meters from where the Blackwall tunnel begins The A102 will also soon be the main corridor for all traffic headed to Greenwich town centre as the council (in all their wiseness) will soon be closing off all the local roads in west and east Greenwich (royal hill, crooms hill, Maze Hill, Vanbrugh hill, west Combe hill) owing to LTNs. There will be no north-south roads between Greenwich south street and the A102, creating London’s biggest LTN The tunnel willl take the strain when people can actually get to it!!!

Saw one of the ex RATP EMC’s at Arriva heading down Purley High Street this afternoon. Saw it from the post office so had no idea if there were any other staff on it but my guess is that it was route learning the 312 extension to Old Lodge Lane.

There have been a couple of crashes on the A13 westbound (why am I not surprised …)
One is near beckton roundabout; the other one near movers lane appears to be a fatal one sadly
I can see on G maps quite a few sections closed off with traffic tailing back from Plaistow turnoff (westbound) to wennington!! The NCR heading to beckton is also a sea of red
Expect a few turns ….

The 62 only has one northbound bus not stuck in Barking anywhere and the 66 seems to be piling up at Whalebone Lane as the A12 is also jamming up.

Just take a look at LVF and live London bus map. The nearest 173 is approaching Ripple Rd towards Beckton. Looks like over 1 hour + wait at Beckton
