First in Cornwall have announced a major review of bus services in Cornwall, with many routes being withdrawn altoghter and other cut back.
The changes I believe are sensible but one I really do diagree with the premier X10 service from Exeter to Newquay. This service used to run every 2 hours between Exeter and Newquay, it has now been restructured so that the two hourly service continues between Exeter and Okehampton (combined hourly service with X9) but only TWO return journeys now extend beyond Okehampton to and from Newquay!!!! Effectively cutting a major link from East and Mid Devon to North Cornwall.
Also First have totally withdrawn from the 55 (Padstow- Bodmin Parkway) with Western Greyhound now running the route under a new guise of 555.
This round of cuts means that the much loved Bristol VRs are now no more in Cornwall.
