A strike has been called by both drivers and station staff. The 72 hour strike will be in operation from 18:30 on the 6th April until 18:30 on the 9th April.

I fully support this strike because your problem at Ealing Broadway a few days ago would become normal accross the UndergrounD with the closure of ticket offices.

Why why Strike again?? it not good company between Manager and Staffs!! why can't they work together and talk like adult !!! Stop waste of time of going on the strike!! If staffs didn't like the way then why can't they go and find other job!!! leave open space job for someone who can join it!!

Still a pain in the arse

In a drivers point of view, strike means more traffic, more people and ultimately, more curtailments

If you saw my introduction, you'll know I'm a tube driver - so hopefully my insight is of benefit here............. Firstly, tube staff haven't been on strike for years - the last one (last year) was actually Metronet staff. The reason we couldn't run a service was that Metronet staff prep the trains for service (there are checks that have to be legally done by them); Metronet staff also have to patrol the track at set periods of time - if it's not done, trains can't run. There are many other examples........... it not good company between Manager and Staffs!! why can't they work together and talk like adult !!! Stop waste of time of going on the strike!! If staffs didn't like the way then why can't they go and find other job!!! leave open space job for someone who can join it!! Do you actually know why the strike action came about? It's basically about ensuring that management don't reduce staff numbers or employ new staff with inferior pay & conditions - LU staff don't want another job, they are trying to protect the jobs they have and ensure that new employees get the same benefits. Well it's screwed me over with get to University. I have to get to Cyprus station. Need i explain anymore??? I wouldn't worry mate - TSSA have now reached agreement with management and RMT are having a meeting with their reps tomorrow..........word is they have also reached agreement. I suspect you will therefore hear soon that the planned strike is now off

Lol, i hope so. While i do have sympathy with tube drivers (my dad works for NatEx East Anglia), i still find it a pain in the arse when they strike. Plus, it always seems to be London Underground that strike!! Lol. Not heard of a major rail operator having anyone walk on them for years........except SWT of course

The strike is off for now. The unions have made good progress with the issues. The reasons for our ballot included massive ticket office closures and the undermining of safety measures, things which could affect anyone who ever uses tube.
