Roofbox, built by the Southern railway at Eastlieigh, to a design by O.V. Bullied. If you check any decent book about the Southern, it's usually in an appendix at the back. Remember as a kid, seeing a carriage being brought to the surface by the old hoist, which was sited where the Eurostar trains now stand at Waterloo.

Roofbox, led you astray a bit, built by English Electric. Check www.semg.org.uk, also see there's a nice book by the Oakwood Press for £35.00!! Only for REAL enthusiasts.

Thanks for that John. I was recently working on car 61 at The LTM Depot (where I am a volunteer), re-attaching the shoebeam - extremely heavy! It's going to have a cosmetic restoration and repaint into old green and silver (SR) livery.
