With the new station planned for Mitcham Eastfields, a friend posed the question...which was the last brand new BR/National Rail non-London Underground or DLR station opened in the Greater London area, that was not a re-siting (eg Eltham) or linked with London Underground, eg St Pancras International/Kings Cross Thameslink or Heathrow Express.
I can only come up with Chessington North and South (May 1939).
Any suggestions?

I thought of this one also. But isn't it a re-site of Holborn? One could say it's a re-site of the original station at Ludgate circus

Thnaks for that. Yes, City (orig St Paul's) Thameslink was really a replacement for Holborn Viaduct (the northern end is located where HV station was sited). St Pancras International sort of connects with LUL as did Kings X Thameslink.
The only other that springs to mind was the temporary station on the Heathrow Express line the name of which escapes me. And the Heathrow terminal line also connects with LUL.
We're looking for a brand-new station with no LUL connections and not a resiting. Thanks for any further suggestions.

The station was Heathrow Junction, a temporary station open from January to May 1998 during the time of the building collapse due to tunnelling for the Heathrow Express line.
I also came up with Colnbrook Estate Halt and Poyle Estate Halt (opened 1.5.61 and 4.1.54 respec) on the Staines West branch but I see these were just outside the Greater London area! Sod's law.
Think I'll stick with the Chessingtons.
