;D In October I went with the family for a week in Brussels. The trams are fantastic, a must visit by Eurostar. Got hundreds of photo,s trying to get lots to let me do a show (along with other pics I have taken over the year in the UK. But also the buses are very intersting. Nearly all the buses are Van Hool integrals. Mostly completely low floor. nearly all the engines are on (their) nearside. both rigids and artics. All have rear doors, rigids 3 door artics 4. TFL should try some of these buses.

I think it'd be really boring if all London buses were of the same type. On the other hand, we're not far off that now with new orders, and service certainly gets a lot easier with a uniform fleet.

Totally agree with you there. The only double-deckers we seem to be recieving now are E400s and Olympuses (and even then the latter's only Metroline and Transdev). There are probably a small number of other examples out there. With regards to single-deckers it seems to be all E200 at the moment, with a few Evolutions and other types. Sure it becomes more easier to maintain fleets, but in the very rare circumstances (hopefully it won't happen) that a big safety issue arises with a certain bus type - if London has that type in mass numbers then they may have to be withdrawn temporarily - imagine the chaos ;D

I really like the Gemini and SP bodies. It's a shame operators suddenly seem to be opting for the Enviro and Olympus only.
