A recent visit revaled that all stations Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin now have replica Southern Region type 'totem' signs. Many never had them at all, going direct from Southern Railway bullseyes to black & white standard signs.
Another surprise was the survival of passenger-operated Quickfare ticket machines (which I was once employed on software maintenance). They are at Ryde PH, Esplanade and Shanklin (at least) and only issue tickets within IOW.

4 Car trains can easily fit into all station platforms. As said above all of the stations around when the line was first electrified, all stations expect lake and smallbrook junction 7 car trains were frequent on summer saturdays until 1990 when the 1938 stock (the new/present trains) were brought in now only two of four car trains run. Chris p.s sorry for commenting on an old thread.
