I did think about writing it on the defect card when I had it on the 165's but I don't wanna start telling engineering how to do their job ;D Thats the point of defect cards mate, if theres a defect, you put it on there! Cover your arse, no one else will!!! I Had a small problem with my bus yesterday morning in the garage, i noticed on my pre-service check that it had a small coolant leak, even though i told the engineers and they fixed it in time (was a loose jubilee clip on one of the hoses) i still put it on the defect card and got them to sign it off as fixed. And with an arse the size of your's it takes a lot of covering Back on topic I agree with egg put it down to cover yourself, sometimes when I'm finished with a bus there's no room left for other drivers to note defects the amount of stuff I put down, ranging from luggage bay lights being out to air leaks

That's what i thought!!! Though, as it changes gears, you can hear the engine rev higher before changing and then shaking as it changes and god its rough lol. Even a couple of NS's 174** batch are like it too. I think 17444 and 17459 are the ones i can name of the top of my head. They can't downshift properly either so i would love to know if anyone can shed some light on this lol Revving up before they change suggests the transmission is on it's last legs.... Thank you for confirmation lol. I think at one point NS had the following vehicles with this problem; 17124, 17135, 17136, 17137, 17154, 17192 and 17194 Might add that these are V1**MEV vehicles too

Most of the noises DT buses make I can't explain... And I don't want to know that is causing them... If I knew what was causing them all I'd be scared to drive it!!!

I actually wrote "Tick noise coming from exhaust under acceleration" when I had it.

This used to be REALLY noisy

Oh yeah. Best ones for being the loudest at the moment are 17132 and 17137. Saying that, i love these beasts being noisy because they sound so god d*mn powerful from the inside!!

Keeping with London Central here, AVL22 with irregular revs when I was on the 35 earlier.

I love when buses sound powerful that is why I love ELBGs V reg tridents and also LCs AVL's they just spund more RAW than other tridents and B7tls.

Was this a continuous grinding sound that came every time it accelerated, or was it one that came on and off, on and off continously? Your observation has just reminded me of an awful griding noise I heard on one of Transdev's VLEs once - I couldn't describe it, you'd have had to hear it for yourself I believe it has gone now though.
