That is true cadets do sound different to me, I think the best sounding darts are ARRIVAs LJ51DCZ-DDF, London generals SN51UA*, ex -connex/travel london YT51DZ*/UA*. Nah, it's got to be ELBG's ALX200's in the Y/51 batch. As said before, they have a very deep sound. Although, i also noticed that Arriva's new E400's at GY also have this too You mean E200s not 400s john ;D . The ELBG Y/51 reg alx200 are the older sound, for that category they sound the best. Let me give you an example of what I am on about with these categories ok: most P-X reg darts sound like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHb7fnZwPVoY & some 51 reg darts sound like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLAalES7TEU the Y & 51 reg ELBG alx200s sound like this but much deeper (sound the best in this category that I was talking about) www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNEINcJeUbY 51 reg - 06 reg sound like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqdWq99y7Gw&feature=related ( Arriva's LJ51DCZ-DDF, LG's SN51UA* and Travel London's YT51DZ*/EZ* Sound the best in this category. 56 reg euro4 pointer darts/enviro200 darts - current reg sound like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltM-rsOrUgs

I too am amazed at the criticism that the DLA's get. OK I mainly use the TC based ones, but do not have any complaints about them as a passenger or performance. I certainly prefer them to a Metrobus Omindekka - from a passenger point of view - long live the DLA.
You may have guessed from my forum name that I quite like them

Yes Arriva, i meant an E200, dunno while the hell i said 400. Again regarding your trip to Romford, the 296 has a nice batch of ex-Selkent Darts. 34303-34309. Best thing is.......NO DLA's!!!!!!!! ;D

Mechanically the N94UD is much better than DB250LF. It is just a shame that the N94UD usually comes with a body that has a low height.

U gotta send us some of the DWs from CN first mate, then we've got a deal... Okay, we'll give you DLP's 16-20 along with 77-88. We'll keep 87 as we've just re-painted it, and that doesn't happen often with Enfield vehicles... And as a special gift, we'll throw in DLA274 absolutely free!! ;D

You may have guessed from my forum name that I quite like them I've been on some of TC's DLAs and I must say some of them are nippy right from the start. Although they're not as fast as euro_3 DLA/DW buses, their euro_2 versions are not that much slower. I can only assume TC have good engineers. By the way, went on VLA 148 or 149 (route 159) and that bus was VERY SLOW, even on kickdown. Maybe the turbo had blown.

The early DLAs S & T reg are low height, I always have to duck when I go upstairs that is another thing that annoys me about them and no I do not like sitting downstairs on double deckers( just incase anyone says why don't I sit downstairs on them then).
