Due to work to upgrade the Hampstead Heath tunnel to take 9'6 freight containers, the NLL will be CLOSED between Gospel Oak and Willesden Junction from 1st September until 16th November 2008.
Trains will therefore run between Willesden Junction- Richmond every 15 minutes and a special through service will be run between Watford Junction- Stratford via the normally freight only Primrose Hill line every 20 minutes. A special shuttle will also run between Gospel Oak and Highbury for Kentish Town West.
Passengers wishing to travel to the intermediate stations between Gospel Oak and Willesden Junction please note that there will be a replacement bus running every 15 minutes.
During this time there will be NO Overground services into Euston from the Watford line on Mon- Sat (on Sundays a special shuttle will run every 30 minutes from Willesden Junction LL.)
In addition the Gospel Oak- Barking Line will also be closed from the 1st- 28th September for essential line and signalling upgrade work. A special replacement bus route will run calling at all stations and Walthamstow Central (Walthamstow Queens Road will be served by a separate shuttle from Walthamstow Central).

It appears work is mainly on track, and bridges (with some track lowering). Some work will be undertaken on stations, but the opportunity to extend the shorter platforms during the closure won't happen. Seems a bit short sighted if you intend to encourage more passengers by improving stations and service

I Bet The Walthamstow Queen's Road Shuttle Will be Run By those old Buses first operated on Route 395 as Edinbrugh Road is one way and really narrow.
I went up it yesterday.
But a road In That Area is getting its bridge replaced as the road has closed already. i cant remember the road

I have been past HO depot several times recently, and haven't noticed them there.

This will be quite a lot of work and i guess metroline who have done rather well of late in the rail field will be well placed to cover a lot of this. Which brings me to a point Underground work is tendered in the normal fashion Tfl advertise it and operators offer their services at a price. However 2 weeks ago sullivan covering overground work were employed by national express rail replacement to cover this work(perhaps they still have a contract to fulfill for the route from silverlink days?) and DLR buses are hired by fraser eagle Selkent,Ensign and Metroline covering most of this.
