There was, but TFL in there wisdom decided it wasn't needed. Are you sure on that? I recently heard one announced on the 200 and their ibus was only installed a few weeks ago. It said something like, "THIS BUS WILL REMAIN HERE WHILE DRIVERS ARE CHANGED"

Yeah I Hear That At Leytonstone Station on The W15, Whilst the drivers change over.
Yeah thats what it says route 295.
But Some if not all of Docklands Buses Mcv Darts Have Been Ibused.
But i've Noted a few AE56OUJ/K/M
I Was AE56OUM ED13 Today and saw the ibus sticker in the front windscreen was abit shocked but delighted when i got on the bus was full so i couldent hear the ibus.
After the bus got empty the Ibus was still quiet?
Can the driver adjust the volume.? or isit faulty

TfL should bring back the, "PLEASE STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS" announcment. I can't understand why that was removed as it gives extra warning to passengers, especially where the driver may be unable to fully view the exit doors or view anbody still trying to alight through the crowd.

I agree, but saying that the Underground and DLR both use the drivers to announce this so maybe TfL are thinking along these lines for the buses

I agree, but saying that the Underground and DLR both use the drivers to announce this so maybe TfL are thinking along these lines for the buses The thing is though that a tube train driver travelling from Stockwell to Tooting Broadway would only have to announce the "doors closing" roughly six times (one for each stop at Clapham North/Common/South, Balham, Tooting Bec/Broadway)....whereas a bus driver along the same route and distance (route 155) would have to announce it many....many...MANY more times. With all due respect to tube and railway drivers, bus drivers work alot harder at operating their vehicles and all that extra talking is not necessary when a pre recorded message would mostly suffice. Sometimes a driver may have to use the PA system as a back up with the doors closing, but most people would respond to a pre recording as they would either want to be alighting or wishing the doors to be closed so that everyone continues on their way.

That's a fair point that you can't really argue with. Personally, i think the comments on iBus are bloody useful for passengers, especially tourists. As i've said before, i love the one stating that the doors can only be opened at stops. Really annoys passengers that want to get off when stuck in traffic ;D

I just thought of another couple of possible ibus messages. First one is to do with temporary bus stops due to road works....
"THE NEXT BUS STOP HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY RELOCATED"
Second one is a message for where a bus cannot properly stop near the curb due to parked vehicles or nearby roadworks....
"PLEASE EXCERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN ALIGHTING AT THIS STOP"

yep, they're being done at the mo, followed an 99 into Erith the other day, he had ibus but had it switched of!! Also the metroline tridents on loan to PD have ibus as well.
Anyway, a suggestion (maybe you could do me a favour beaver, and higlight this to the relavent operson, that would be great!), basically why cant we initiate a curtailment on a last trip? Iv'e touched up on this before, but my duty all this week, iv'e been cutailed short on my last trip due to late running because of traffic and have to turn the announcements off because i cannont get it to announce the revised destination so it's saying '229 to Thamesmead' while the bus is displaying Erith on the front! I'm pretty good on the P.A. ( I DJ and host disco's etc on top of the bus driving), but its just remembering to do it a fair few times during the trip!!
