Could they have dropped off/terminated on the Chelverton Road stand directly outside before turning around inside AF? Yes I think that's what would have happened, it would have been nice to travel inside the garage on the bus but doubt that would be allowed just incase anything happened while in the garage. Maybe I'm wrong and if I am I wonder how many times that has happened before. I've been on a bus through Edgware garage sometime ago when there was resurfacing work in the bus station..... I very much doubt if passengers would have had to get off and back on again at AF, it would have been a logistical nightmare. Of course many passengers might well have got off and walked across the bridge or got on another bus.

There maybe a difference because of that but honestly I don't know so will keep quiet now.

Is the 603 is a school route? Yes it is, but is a special one as it runs during holidays too. I think because of the locations it serves, which does get some passengers during holidays at Hampstead and Muswell Hill. I see it at Swiss Cottage and it is always packed.

Buses accessed Kingston Clarence Street bus station via Kingston bus garage (K) but I don't believe passengers were allowed to remain on into the bus stn, only to board them there. Can anyone confirm?

It used to run in the holidays because it was born out of longstanding demands for a daily service linking Muswell Hill, Highgate and Hampstead. TfL did not think it could justify an all-day service - even in the days when they had loads of cash - but did see the benefit of school journeys, and it was decided to run during the holidays to gauge demand for non-school travel. Unfortunately the very limited times of operation meant that it was of little use to non-school users.

When Sullivan’s took over the 603 it was reduced to schooldays only. However around February this year, half terms and Easter holidays were added to the days of operation. Basically it means it operates every Monday to Friday except summer holidays and over the Christmas and new year period.

From what I remember, the issue is that it serves several schools but their holidays do not match, so it has to run throughout Easter etc. This is different from most school routes which only serve one or two schools so are easier to schedule.

How do I create a poll in this forum? You have to make a new thread in *whatever subforum the poll is related to* and whilst creating a thread, the Add Poll option will show

How are vehicle requirements calculated? i.e. PVRs and TVRs As a rule of thumb, you take the peak round trip time (the time taken to complete a return journey on the route during the peaks, including stand time at both ends) and divide by the service interval to get the PVR. So if a route has a peak round trip time of 120 minutes and runs every 10 minutes, it will have a PVR of 12.

Depending on the 328 result then the C3 will not meet up with any other Tower Transit route once the 28 leaves.
