Going back a few years here, but can anyone remember why Centrewest was refused permission to open a garage in Powerscroft Road, Foots Cray? It looks like a perfect location for a garage.

Can one operator put multiple bids on a route. For example:
BID LIST
Route: 111 (just an example)
Operator: a Vehicle: Existing Hybrid buses Cost: £x
Operator: a Vehicle: Brand new electric pantograph-fitted buses Cost: £y
... Other bids by other operators (b and c.); one bid each respectively
Can operator a do this?

Yes. Everyone operator puts in a bid for new buses according to the tender specification (whether electric or hybrid) to make it a level playing field. Then an operator can put in additional bids such as converting to electric if tender spec was for hybrids, existing buses, joint bids and any other reasonable options an operator can think of

Can one operator put multiple bids on a route.? another vote for yes
It's by no means unknown for TFL to ask for bids for various options, e.g. new electric buses / existing fleet buses, or for different options, e.g. with a Sunday service every 20 minutes or a Sunday service every 15 minutes.
I think it's a requirement that an operator puts in a 'compliant' bid
but operators can offer 'non compliant' alternative options, like the 8 and 36 terminating / standing in Bow and New Cross garages rather than wherever the tender spec says
or alternative type of vehicle
obviously TFL are going to make a judgement whether the alternative being offered is acceptable and balance that against any financial saving.
or joint / combined bids, e.g. route A will cost X per year, route B will cost Y per year, but we can do routes A and B for Z per year. This page on TFL tender results shows routes 469 and B12 being awarded on a joint bid. I think (within reason) a joint bid can cover routes in multiple tender tranches.

Why can't the K1 take longer 2 door buses? The roads between Malden Manor and Tolworth are really tight with parked cars often on both sides, sone of the turns are tight for the current vehicles. Plus the turning point at New Malden station is tight for single door buses, dual door buses might not make it.

Probably allocated smaller buses for the reasons you state above. The B13 is similar.

Why can't the K1 take longer 2 door buses? The turn into Thornbury Road is tight, the New Malden terminus is tight Old Malden has some corners / junctions but roads there are decent width Some of the stops only have shortish kerbs so not suitable for middle door ramps But 99% of the route could take longer buses This is why in past some have suggested the difficult Tolworth bit should be part of K4 route, allowing Old Malden to have longer buses

Good afternoon all. Just wanted to ask a question. I was on the 281 (naturally recording the journey). Next thing that happens is that a guy asks me why u filming and then just ranted on and on about asking peoples permission to film (which it clearly had nothing to do with othera) and when he got off he complained to the driver but the driver didn't care. So who is in the right and wrong. Has this happened to others before. Bear in mind, I did ask him would u like to see the footage for proof that I didn't record anyone, but he didn't wanna see it. 😂. I never record anyone else apart from the journey but this man clearly though otherwise 🤔
