Go Ahead won it, Stagecoach were incumbent, only leaves Arriva DX as the option. They'd have had space from the 462 loss, but the 368 was won in the same round. Such a shame. I would have loved to see an Arriva 147. Only hope is 2023... Very unlikely IMO it will probably be between Stagecoach at WH and Go-Ahead at DS both will electrics.

Don't really know where to put this since there isn't really a thread for Courtney Buses. But when they had the Bedfont Lakes routes at what point did the Optares get replace by E200s?

The total PVR at the time was 7 (2 of which were used on a service to Hayes which was withdrawn after a couple of years). I can't remember offhand what was used to cover the extra requirement.

Earlier this week I boarded route N55 and I saw a black box object which was flashing a blue light. It was against the middle of the front window, with a tube going to the driver's cabin. Does anyone know what it is?
The bus felt very restricted, as if the bus driver was pushing the acceleration pedal, but the bus could not move any faster (this was in a 20mph zone). Is it an ISA? Are there any buses before hybrids or electrics that have this? Or specific routes?

Could the box have been some sort of camera or sensor to monitor driving standards?

Around fifty existing buses were trialled with the ISA in 2015 on routes 19 (then under Go Ahead) and 486.

I was in Sloane Square on a 452 and I noticed a summer service (I believe it was EB1) on the tiles at Stop C. I tried searching about it on Google but nothing came up, does anybody know about it?

Generally, is it preferable for a garage to be near the end of a route, or somewhere near the middle?
For example with route 13, QB is very close to the Victoria terminus, while W would be nearer the midpoint of the route.

Lots of extra bus capacity was put in in early 2000s as a "quick win" to increase public transport capacity ahead of Congestion Charging. The charge was to contribute towards improvements in the Underground and rail network, but these would take time to deliver. Now that the rail services are so much more reliable, people are choosing to use them, even if it means paying more than the bus. The Central London bus network is simply being scaled back down so that capacity better reflects current demand, and so that resources can be refocused on journeys that don't have a decent rail alternative.
