What happens if there are two bidders for a route but neither have garage space and so no bidder accepts the route? They go back to the drawing board. I.e. see if any of the operators can accommodate, re-allocate routes to an alternative garage. Or if the companies can seek alternative garage space or land to park the buses. I would have thought if an operator had already rejected the route, then they are already in a situation where they can’t re-allocate routes or have alternative land available, unless TfL finds them a piece of land.

I have just re-read the question which now would not make any sense. Why would they bid for the route if they have not got the space and have no intention of looking for space.

This happened with the 147 and H13, where the lowest bidder refused the route as a result of lack of garage space. Arriva rejected the 147 after gaining the 368. Sovereign rejected the H13 after gaining the 395. Had UX not had space for the H13 (such as they had won the 207, E3, E10 and E11), what would have happened to the H13?

The 222 base by the looks of things has quite a lot of space

Just you made it sound factual that Arriva had won and rejected the route when it was TfL who never awarded the route to the lowest bidder.

Yes, the W19 shows they're interested in the Ilford area.

Although the case of the 147 and 368 is different, as when both were submitted, never route was operated. Sometimes, you may not expect to gain all or most of what you bid for.

So in the case of the 147 and 368 who decided which route was awarded? Did TfL consult with Arriva? Or was a just a TfL decision as they would have been aware of the garage capacity?

I think the 147's contract was due to commence a week later so maybe that played a part in the decision. I assumed Arriva rejected the 147 after gaining the 368.

Cannot be disclosed, unfortunately

What VH's or LT's will be allocated to the 71 when all of RATP's allocations have settled down when BCE's have been delivered and the 49 can take it's electrics?

What VH's or LT's will be allocated to the 71 when all of RATP's allocations have settled down when BCE's have been delivered and the 49 can take it's electrics? I thought it would just be VHs? I thought the plan for the LTs hasn't been confirmed yet?
