Can you have a commercial route operate fully within the TfL boundary and not leave it? Yes, providing you get a London service permit but likely to struggle to find enough punters that want to pay to use it, to make it viable

Can you have a commercial route operate fully within the TfL boundary and not leave it? Yes that are already a few in existence. HCT’s 812 just restarted last week according to their website. There’s all those tourist bus services and school buses. There is a list of routes with LSPs on TfL’s website.

Could there ever get a Volvo B5L chasis with an Enviro 400 City EV body? Also could there be a BYD chasis with an Enviro 400 MMC EV body instead of an Enviro 400 City EV body?

How comes up until about 2004 or 2005 London buses where allowed to appear in whatever colour? Was just what was allowed in the early days of tendering. Most notable were Grey Green, Metrobus, Capital Citybus. From 1996 the rules changed so that all buses on zone 1 must be 80% red them all london from 2001.

Not at all trying to reboot the Hybrid debate we had with some members recently. Just want to ask, what sites are the best and most reliable for general research about emissions etc?
I used VOLVO for the Hybrid buses but wondering if there are anymore that will supply reliable information?

In the early days of tendering under London General Transport (LRT) which came under the government (there was no Mayor or TfL in those days), the private Operators were being encouraged into the market, and as part of that they were allowed to have their design / colours. Soon after the Mayor and TfL started, the rules were changed as above.

In theory the answer to both is yes. Stagecoach I believe did purchase some Volvos with ADL Enviro MMC bodywork, and I can see no reason why in theory the same could not be done with the City body. I say in theory because someone would need to get that combination produced and pay for it, and I can't see anyone wishing to do that. ADL chose to put the City bodywork on the BYD chassis, they could also choose to put the MMC body on it as well. It would cost ADL to do this, so unless Operators want it and are prepared to pay, why would they do it, given the City EV seems quite successful?

The Volvo B5L chassis is now only available in the B5L S-charge version This is the electrified version that can do 1km on pure electric It is also now only available in 9.96m (double deck) or 12m - 12.5m (single) lengths So unless someone wants a virtual electric version that is about 10.3m (double deck) or 12.8m (single deck) long over body, it is not going to happen. Do you think that there’s money in TfL budget to increase frequencies of bus routes?

Do you think that there’s money in TfL budget to increase frequencies of bus routes? I think you already know the answer to that They have recently increased the W4's frequency so they have SOME couch change somewhere

I think you already know the answer to that They have recently increased the W4's frequency so they have SOME couch change somewhere Now compare that to the amount of routes that have been cut in comparison

I think you already know the answer to that They have recently increased the W4's frequency so they have SOME couch change somewhere There will be some local examples of increased frequency, but generally there are cuts The reasons : new developments in area making it busier alternative route being cut

In Paddington before Crossrail was developed there was a long bus stand on Eastbourne Terrace routes 15, 159, 205 and 436 all used this stand when they terminated at Paddington. Then when the construction of Crossrail began those routes that terminated at Paddington where moved to stand elsewhere. Now that Crossrail is here and construction is mostly finished do you think that this bus stand will be restored?
