I got the reply from TfL saying all bus service will be running as the normal timetable on Thursday 2nd June and Friday 3rd June (unlike outside of London area where running as Sunday service timetable) Depends how you read normal. Do they mean the normal bank holiday schedule, which is a Sunday service?

I can't believe that TfL misled the information on the website saying Normal Service as it didn't explain which service is running on both Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd. However, now I will let someone know about this as a person trying to get transport to workplace won't be able to go in early but ask the colleague to give the lift to the work.

Don’t know about the Thursday because I’ve got that day off now!

Worst bus experience in a while just now. Driver on the 469 going way too fast behind a 244 on the approach to Woolwich Public Market, basically looking to overtake assuming no-one wanted to board. I saw his game and made sure he saw me flagging the bus down. Upon boarding the dude opens his driver door and accused me of flagging him down like a waiter. I clicked my fingers at him and boarded (You either have to laugh or go full on alpha…fortunately I’d had a very good evening tonight and he might as well of been talking to a brick wall. Really glad this confrontation didn’t happen when I was pxxxed off). Nothing more was said, the driver closed his door let on a few more people and continued on. Drove quite aggressively for the rest of the way and clipped the curb on the approach to the bus only lane over the bridge ahead of Plumstead Station. Dude was tailing a 180 and then proceeded to overtake when there were clearly passengers at the Plumstead Station stop served by the 177, 180 and 469. He pulled up momentarily in the middle of the road parallel to the 180 before driving away with passengers clearly trying to flag the bus down. Not good at half past midnight. More door opening histrionics followed at Plumstead High Street with another passenger. I’ve reported this driver. He really needs to remember that his job is to serve the public. If he doesn’t want to do it no-one is forcing him to, so go get a new job. Drive safely and don’t take out your misery on passengers.

Recently had to pretty much fling myself into the road at St John's Hill Clapham junction to stop a 37 who'd "ghost stopped" 3 buses back (the fact that it was VHP1 which I'd timed my journey to Clapham Common to photo the out-going GAL SE's on the 322 was also a contributing factor 😉) but had a similar face-off with the driver and unfortunately had to pull the "I work for TfL Mate" card in the end. He wasn't in harness on it's return journey so I suspect had been trying to get back to Peckham for break or end-of-duty asap.

You're quite right to report this sort of thing, totally unacceptable behaviour.

Oh dear more unacceptable standards and I've generally found PM drivers very good. Any delays and it can be a bit tight getting two rounders in on the 37 but no excuse for this.

Interestingly, there was a passenger on the S4 yesterday who took issue with something the driver was doing as he mentioned he had been watching him throughout the journey when he got off yet his driving wasn’t particularly erratic so confused what happened there. At the final stop, the driver opened the doors and as I was walking through them, he then shut the doors catching me as I got off - I wasn’t best pleased but he did apologise but it made me wonder back to what the passenger had said - maybe his concentration was impacted for some reason?

Can you have a commercial route operate fully within the TfL boundary and not leave it?

Can you have a commercial route operate fully within the TfL boundary and not leave it? Yes, providing you get a London service permit but likely to struggle to find enough punters that want to pay to use it, to make it viable

Can you have a commercial route operate fully within the TfL boundary and not leave it? Yes that are already a few in existence. HCT’s 812 just restarted last week according to their website. There’s all those tourist bus services and school buses. There is a list of routes with LSPs on TfL’s website.
