Somewhat off topic but are there are any nice village - like / picturesque pubs which are accessible by bus? An example being the five bells in chelsfield which the R7 goes to. Have some time on hand so trying to marry doing end to ends with pubs so I can also drink (with a car you can’t drink!) There’s the Old Orchard in Harefield with nice views of the lake and River Colne. You can get there on the U9 This looks nice!

Box hill is very nice especially the village of mickleham where there's two pubs. The running horses and King William IV. I went to the running horses a few months ago half way through the 8 mile box hill walk and had a very nice refreshing drink albeit only a lime and soda and a packet of crisps so can't comment on food or beer there unfortunately. The 465 stops right outside the running horses and it's about 5 mins to the other pub. In terms of picturesque definitely the king William IV has better views.

You’ve got the Bulls Head at Pratts Bottom, the Cock and the Rose and Crown in Halstead, the Three Horseshoes and the Harrow at Knockholt Pound, the Tally Ho at the other side of Knockholt and the Blacksmiths Arms at Cudham. All very picturesque pubs with some stunning scenery

Where did the 73 stand at Seven Sisters under Arctic operation? How did it run from its last stop to the stand, and then first stop?

Buses would run out of service to stand Yes the final destination changed to Seven Sisters Station to allow it to easily continue to LV garage aswell as opposed to the 76 which finished at Tottenham/Town Hall.

Has the Bull Ring gate stop on the 360 been permanently removed?

Do you think that transport network outside TfL land has funding issues like TfL have?

Do you think that transport network outside TfL land has funding issues like TfL have? It has worse funding issues than TfL hence why many routes end up reduced drastically or completely cut without replacement - whilst some routes are tendered on a contractual basis, many are commercial and rely solely on fares with no other funding to back them up.

Oh I thought as much that it be just as bad or even worse.

I think a lot of areas have been short of drivers To some extent has allowed them to cherry pick which routes have been thinned, they can’t really touch the infrequent subsidised (usually rural) ones, so second tier routes have suffered more than the money spinners. So costs have been cut where revenue wasn’t strong. I think rest of England, there are still covid operating grants (currently extended to October) which is covering funding. TfL had its own separate funding pot (now ended, but potentially will be partly extended)

Do you think that transport network outside TfL land has funding issues like TfL have? They do which is why so much of the bus network outside of London is vanishing.

Whenever I talk to friends who live outside London about the state of buses there I realise how lucky we are. Since deregulation, bus services across most of England have been in terminal decline, with routes continually seeing their frequencies cut, which in turn supresses demand and extortionate fares meaning many don't bother with the bus at all. This is exactly why Andy Burnham has bought Greater Manchester's buses back in house and I believe Steve Rotherham and Tracy Brabin are doing/looking at doing similar things. Whilst TFL's current financial state isn't pretty and we're starting to see cuts to the network, compared to the decades of cuts other parts of the country face, we haven't fared nearly as badly.
