I think you are being a little hopeful here, probably needs to go away for testing and obtain the required certifications first. Not hoping but simply enquiring, given that it's dual doored and London red

That must surely be another nail in the ADL-BYD partnership coffin as it’s a direct competitor to the ADL integral Enviro400EV. It seems therefore a bit odd for ADL to continue selling buses based on BYD chassis when BYD themselves have a product in direct competition. Not really, it’s no different to Volvo or Scania offering a chassis but still having their own complete models. It just provides operators with more options. Perhaps they like the ADL aftercare but the chassis BYD offer. It’s all about choice at the end of the day.

Looks horrible in my opinion ... Tomatoed is bad, but we seem to be going then other way now. I'm all for variety for London buses but that bus just looks awful sorry. Reminds me a bit of the East Lancs Pioneer

I agree it looks awful, still better than the Volvo BZL though I would say.

It’s not the newest type front they make. Nor is it exactly the previous generation (see HK’s BYD B12D below). Also interesting is how far back the centre door is placed. Back of the centre door seems to be not fully low floor like the current BYD E400EVs based on what I can make out from the seating. You know the 206 revised change regarding consultation regarding its rerouting via North End Road does that mean it will now serve Fourth Way, Fifth Way and Fourth Way both ways instead of going via Fulton Road and North End Road when it says it’s going ahead with a revised change? haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/wembley-bus-changes

At the open day recently they stated that whilst they are trying to move to integral vehicles, they will still body a BYD chassis based on customer requests

The former link redirects to the XLB variant (for New Zealand).

Could anyone please explain the Pro's and Con's of having Ultracapacitors to Batteries? The Smart Hybrids have Ultracapacitors, but is this something to do with the 48v hybrid tech on them? Could you not have Ultracapacitors instead of Batteries on full hybrid/electric buses? First off Ultracapacitors is a type of battery technology, so they are not added to a battery, they are the battery. One day I am sure you will have solid-state batteries like Ultracapacitors that can power full electric buses, but the technology for that is not there yet which is the reason why you don't see such buses. You need much more from a battery that is powering the bus alone than one powering a smart hybrid, and as yet ultracapacitors are not yet able to deliver that, but I am sure some form of solid-state battery will one day do just that, and that day may not be that far off.

The front is absolutely ugly It's like they started with building a single decker then someone was like you do know you are building a double decker bus right and someone has just stuck a bit that doesn't fit as best they could.

The interior looks like the GAL high-spec interior but it's hard to tell from the images.
