Can anyone give a view on how well new route 301 is doing in terms of usage / reliabilty? Not seen much comment on what is a rare thing - a brand new route. Quite reliable no traffic at all, doing them today I pulled up outside Abbey Wood Station at around 6:30pm and picked up about 20 people in the Woolwich direction and was quite busy. In the opposite direction many get on at Abbey Wood Station and get off at the top of New Road. Its very popular between Bexleyheath & Thamesmead because it is quicker than the 401. Overall it gets quite busy and many have noticed the first stop in Woolwich and will wait for it over the 472 because it is busy as the 472 carries North Greenwich people.

Really wasn't sure where to plonk this so here seems as good a place as any. I'm considering doing the 34 this Saturday, but my reservation is North Circular traffic, so could someone on here please tell me what the traffic on the North Circular between Arnos Grove and Crooked Billet like? Is it particuarly bad in one direction? Is it particularly bad at a certain time of day etc?

There are roadworks on the A406 near Brownlow Rd, traffic isn't that bad unless you end up with an RTC on the A406.

I think I'll do the latter given that my plan also involves the Tottenham area when routes will be diverted, I may just go on the Sunday instead.

When does the ULEZ go across the whole of London? For vehicles over 3.5t (lorries, Bus, coaches) starts 26 October 2020

When does the ULEZ go across the whole of London? Strictly speaking the ULEZ will not cover the whole of London. What is happening on 26 October 2020 is that the LEZ standards (which apply to heavy vehicles across London) are being tightened to match the ULEZ standards. The London-wide zone will still be called the LEZ and will still only apply to heavy vehicles.
The ULEZ itself (which applies to most vehicles, not just heavy ones) will expand to the North & South Circular roads from 25 October 2021. I don't think there are any current plans for the ULEZ to expand any more than that.

Does Wrightbus make any electric vehicles?

Does Wrightbus make any electric vehicles? Yes - well they did before they went into administration. It remains to be seen what the resurrected company will offer.
Their most recent electric offering was the StreetAir. Go-Ahead London trialled one on the 360 for a while.

Apparently only ever made 18 electric buses, including a small batch of 8 StreetLite EVs for Arriva Milton Keynes in 2014, and 6 streetAir for Lothian in 2017. The other 4 were prototypes or demonstrators.

How reliable charge wise are the BYD single decks that have been introduced in the past two years? Do they reliably last a full day on a single charge? One for the drivers?

How reliable charge wise are the BYD single decks that have been introduced in the past two years? Do they reliably last a full day on a single charge? One for the drivers? I travelled on the EBUSCO electric bus in Interlaken. There was a screen high up which showed the state of battery charge. It was late in the day, the last trip in fact. Charge when we started was 28%, dropping to 26% after ~4 mile easy trip. Obviously, no idea whether it was fully charged at the start of duty. I'm sure the duties in Interlaken are not terribly arduous, but it does make me wonder whether one would be up to a duty on a major route in central London. Ifo on the EBUSCO vehicle here. www.postauto.ch/en/news/first-electric-postbus-be-used-scheduled-routesAnother solution which I have seen but not ridden on are the electric buses in Cologne (Koln). They have a charging point at the end of the route beside the Hauptbahnhof. On arrival, a type of pantograph goes up and makes contact with a power supply above the bus to charge/top up the battery. I would guess that the drivers need to park quite accurately to allow proper contact to be made. I don't know how many routes use this type of bus, and I don't know whether there is a second charging point at the other end of the route.
