If there was spare Cities why did a full allocator of smarts transfer across for the 242? You don’t see as many odd working on the D6 and D7 now so that’s why I assume buses are off the road and allocations are a bit tight at the moment. Also did the 26 not have a PVR increase for the extension to Victoria?

In 2016 when CTPlus won it they ordered 21 16-reg Cities (for a PVR of 19). So now the 26 has the 21 16-reg Cities plus a 66-reg. Then 16 66-reg were ordered for the 388, which now only has a PVR of 11/TVR of 12. So after reallocating one of the 66-reg’s to the 26, there are three spare. Plus the 65-reg City that came later which is the W13’s DD school bus

They just keep coming! I know these buses are getting old but do have a soft spot for the classic E400! The Stagecoach examples are generally in a decent condition compared say to the Go Ahead examples.

It would probably be best for the 388 to have 2 spares,buses will need to be refurbished for the new contract as well, requiring the use of the spare buses
