Looks like the new Streetlites are arriving now - with 6 for the 430/435 and 4 for the 200. I think these will displace E200s to replace the OmniTowns on services such as the 93. I've heard one OmniTown is to stay to replace 6560 Yes that’s true. 6615. 5 are for the 430/435. The 6th one is a spare for all streetlite routes. The 200 ones are all in service now all but one.

Ommnitowns 6622 and 6623 are now allocated to Conway Street depot for rail replacement work with Brighton and Hove. It's interesting to note on the B and H website that they are transfers rather than acquisitions or loans.

An interesting thing to note in the LOTS weekly update is that due to a low emissions zone in Brighton, route 273 has been cut back to Old Steine as the OmniCity's are not Euro VI compliant. Wonder if this is a permanent change or a temporary one until the OmniCity's are upgraded

From my rather small experience of using & seeing Brighton buses, it will impact on some people who would have to walk to Old Steine particularly elderly folk who get on at Churchill Square.

I'm pretty certain the Scanias wont be upgraded. There are only a small number of journeys each day and unless greater areas of the Metrobus operating area are covered by similar schemes there really is no justification for the expenditure. If the curtailment to Old Steine does have an impact on passenger numbers then I would hazard a guess that the schedules would be reworked in order to allow single deck operation, the 270 is run by E200's and still serves Churchill Square. Another option would be to run at least some journeys from a garage at the Brighton end of the route. Then a greater choice of vehicles will be available. As much as I would like this to happen I think if it's a realistic option then it would have been done by now.

Refurbishment of the 15 plate Enviro200s has started, they are getting a fresh paint job and updated seat trim. 6776 is the first to be treated, and looks quite smart. Apoligies for the poor quality photo Attachment Deleted

6783 has now entered service on route 93 It entered service on Wednesday, on Fastway route 10. It's replacing 6111 which is an insurance write-off due to an RTA last summer. I managed to get a photo of it's first trip, albeit a very terrible one!
