The 24 new Enviro400ERs for Brighton are now arriving, 6 B9TLs (63 plated) from Brighton will soon be transferred to Crawley garage for use on route 420. Ooo, I might be tempted to do the 420 - haven't done it since the Volvo Olympian days

They are the same type that already operates on the 5/5A/5B. The new ones are for routes 1/1A (Mile Oak - city - Whitehawk).

Any idea what else will be leaving the B&H fleet as a result? I'm hoping there will still be a few of the older OmniDekkas in service next year...

I've not got the exact numbers yet(that are leaving) but there should still be a couple of older N94s left in some form

I was in Brighton last weekend, saw the ones on the 5-group. Was kind of hoping they would be in a different version of the livery for whichever route they were going on.

The 2s and 27s. B9s and B5s (to be converted to straight diesel) from those routes to be used to displace older Scanias, with the exception of B9s 480-485 which move to Crawley.

Being recoded 6901 - 6906 and 6901 is currently being repainted This suggests that in Brighton route 27 is one of those gaining the Enviro 400ERs. EDIT: I have seen a cascade above which rules this out.

I believe that route 1/1A has been selected for the new vehicles as there are concerns about pollution levels in the busy and narrow St James Street.

A shame that those awful low-height Streetdecks are going to plague the 2s and 27s. It was easy enough to avoid them on the 1s.
It'll be interesting to see how the B5Ls cope as pure diesel buses. The design is completely different to that of the B9TL, so I guess there's no chance of just shoving a B9 engine in there.
