the line is one of the worst now in my books. Don't use the Central or District Lines much then?

What's wrong with the Piccadilly line lately? First, we've got chaos last Wednesday and a one-under just yesterday. I was going home from Leicester Square and the staff announced that there was a suspension eastbound only between Hammersmith and Kings Cross , and the next train will be the last one before the section is officially suspended. That was very lucky for me at the time, or otherwise I would have to change 3 times. Looks like the Piccadilly line has really been a letdown other than the Circle or Northern lines...

To be fair to LU staff, that one-under isn't their fault. But what happened last Wednesday? the northen line is even worst, they change the destination every other station. really confusing?? ;D ;D What? I don't know if you use this line regularly but lately I've found it's been running a much improved service to what it was, say 3 or 4 years ago

Yes, it's not their fault but it did take ages for the whole line to recover.

I do like TheDoctor's response though - "that's fairly standard" ;D Obviously no laughing matter for passengers who were inconvenienced on that day however. I'm lucky I don't use the Piccadilly that often, but when I have it's been quite good to me.

Victoria seems to be the best line, I've hardly heard of any delays on that line, nor are there any when I use it and there is always a train at Brixton.
The Piccadilly Line isn't too bad, never had a problem with it. Just avoid the Circle Line, thats what I do ;D.

I've also found the Vicky Line's reliability to be very good, however it is always overcrowded (due to the line not being built to a future-proof design during the 60's). If you're ever waiting at Euston at around half 8 in the morning don't be surprised to let about 3 or 4 trains go before you manage to squeeze onto the 5th ;D I agree with you about the Circle Line too - it's hopeless at the moment.

There have been some unusual movements on the Picc yesterday, with an additional stop at Chiswick Park as a result of a signal failure at Ealing Common. Having used it from Northfields, the train that I've rode on unexpectingly used platform 4 instead of the usual platform 3. It seems quite rare for regular trains to use platform 4 IMO, I've heard that only a couple of trains are booked to run on the local eastbound track.

There are about a few, late evening and near close of traffic trains that are timetabled to run from Northfields to Acton Town via the Local Line or via the Fast Line and cross over to the Local Line platform - which is the only one that then runs down the Local Line to Hammersmith. Either line can be used between Northfields and Acton Town by the Service Operator in the best interests of the service. Most commonly is if trains have come back from Heathrows out of turn (wrong timetabled order) or there is a problem on the fast line. However due to the signalling capabilities at Acton Town using the Local Line for every train is slower overall - plus delays the District line too.

A Picc train can use the eastbound local line track until a crossover just after H'smith where they then must switch over lines into Barons Court. I know this happens as I have been on a train that has done just that.
