Very interesting read as always! Surprised to hear that the LT's have the best suspension though Appreciate it! Although the LT is a bus people love to hate, sometimes with good reason, one thing it has going for it is the ride quality. They handle uneven road surfaces well and are much harder to ground than an Enviro! I'm certainly not surprised. Their long wheelbase helps make their suspension extremely well controlled, so much nicer than everyone's beloved B5LHs which are just way too bouncy with their short and uneven wheelbase. That hump right on the corner in Hounslow is horrible with the 120, especially as almost no driver slows right down for it (or indeed any other humps on the route ), but LT29 on Sunday was much more settled 😄. Some VWHs on the 120 also used to have a habit of sitting a bit low, especially when only half-full, and they often scraped the ground when going around bends at a normal speed, let alone going over humps! Luckily that issue appears to have been sorted as I haven't had one do that in a long time. The wheelbase length thing also makes a difference with E200s (both original and MMC), where the tiny ones are much more bouncier than the long ones. Nice post about the DLR-A replacement. I was actually in the area on the Sunday, after driving to Mile End and Stratford to snap the 425, then look at the rail replacement. Sadly I managed to spend too much time trying to get a VN on the 425 so I only had time for a few shots at Royal Albert, and didn't manage to get one of the two MMCs snapped, only LTs and classic E400Hs. If I was there earlier I'd have gone on it too. Strait Road has been like that for years, and it was closed for about 2 months in 2016 while Newham Council repaired part of the road. Wasn't expecting to see a speed restriction there as drivers from previous operators haven't really done it, but maybe there were some broken windows from the trees at some point. Although your LT automatically did it for you! Stop N near Cyprus Station also suffered from a lot of subsidence until it was sorted out in 2016. Apart from ASDA, there is Tesco and several other stores at Gallions Reach Shopping Park, plus Home Bargains and Iceland a short distance from ASDA. East Beckton Sainsbury's is a bit further away. For PL1 I went on Sunday. I forgot my SD card at home so no photos but had some nice runs. Started with LT29 from Hounslow Central to Heathrow, sadly the driver was a bit slow throughout the trip. He also seemed unsure about the diversion, but managed to follow the 203/482 signs without issues. After thinking about whether to get PL1 back or the 285, I went for LT90 and this driver was much better, driving at the speed limit. Then came a rounder with 9455, which started off a bit slow but turned out to be the driver following the 20mph limits (which is fair enough really). Afterwards there was some E400 thrash 😃 the bus didn't have full performance, but it was still good enough. Definitely got lucky for once

Definitely got lucky for once I managed to catch a 56 reg enviro (maybe 9405 but not 100% sure). It seemed to be restricted until about 20mph but after that it was able to roar up to the limiter. The driver didn’t seem bothered with speed limits, even going around the perimeter road at max speed - this was surprising because there seem to be a number of yellow cameras around Heathrow that I thought were average speed cameras. They probably aren’t because an N9 I was on a few mornings ago managed to hit 48mph according to the speed signs just before each camera. Only did the one trip but the diversion via Hounslow Heath was a nice surprise. I have to say Abellio run rail replacement very well. All the staff were friendly and helpful, plus having some LTs running through Hounslow during the day was interesting to see.

Definitely got lucky for once The zebra crossing at Hounslow Bell Corner is useless as there are so many pedestrians about that want to cross that the bus ends up waiting for more than its needed to. I think the traffic light crossing that was previously at Bell Corner was a better option imo.

The hump you are talking about - is it the one at Hounslow Bell Corner? It's the one right on the bend, where the opposite directions of the 120/H20 split or meet. The hump starts way too close to the bend, so the rear wheels reach it diagonally while the bus is already turning.

There is a rumour (might be false) that the Go Coach E400s from QL will be out on DL-7 over the weekend.

There is a rumour (might be false) that the Go Coach E400s from QL will be out on DL-7 over the weekend. Yesterday I spotted a lost looking Go Coach Solo in Tarling Road E16 (Not a road buses usually use) it then made its way to stand at Canning Town Station. Could have been route learning?

Rail rep tomorrow:
District line:
Service DL6 (Canning Town - Tower Hill) Operated by Sullivan's Buses (as far as I know?)
Service DL7 (Canning Town - Dagenham East) Operated by Abellio London from Battersea (QB) and Walworth (WL)
London Overground:
Service LO-M (Clapham Junction - Canada Water) Operated by Arriva London: South
Service LO-X (Dalston - New Cross Gate) Operated by Arriva London: North
Service UL10 (Hackney Downs - Chingford) Operated by Abellio London (again as far as I know?)
Information above is based on the TfL website indicating line closures for the weekends and the latest TfL schedules released for each rail replacement. Of course these may have been subjected to change since then, but it's a good guess and most likely I should imagine that these will be your operators for the weekend.
