Noticed Stagecoach are not running the TfL Stratford - Shenfield rail replacement today. Have they lost the contract or just busy elsewhere?

Noticed Stagecoach are not running the TfL Stratford - Shenfield rail replacement today. Have they lost the contract or just busy elsewhere? Believe that is an Abellio operated service now.

Noticed Stagecoach are not running the TfL Stratford - Shenfield rail replacement today. Have they lost the contract or just busy elsewhere? TFL Rail Replacement contracts usually last 1 year. Stagecoach's contract running UL16 (Stratford - Romford) started on 16 Jan 2021, so as a result a new contract has started now. It has returned "home" to Abellio, only this time there won't be any self-combusting Volvo B7TLs! In other words, Sullivan Buses are back on UL51 (Newbury Park - Chadwell Heath - Shenfield). Both of these rail replacement services will run most weekends until the end of March.

Greater Anglia were busy today running down the A12 between Shenfield and Newbury Park today, with all services starting at Shenfield today. Since there were no through services, the car park was utilised in order to allow buses to stand. Throughout the day, buses ranged from quite empty to rammed to the brim. The load at Newbury Park seemed to be more spread out, with small groups boarding each service wheras at Shenfield a couple hundred people would spill out of the station at regular intervals. At one point, the queue spread all accross the car park, down a set of stairs and down the high street to the Subway on Hutton Road. Due to this, buses were doubled or sometimes tripled up. Nice variety of allocation, including many coach operators, Ford's of Althorne with their Omnidekka, some sort of former Arriva early generation DW, Ensign BCIs(great at working their way through the massive crowds at Shenfield) and a Plaxton President (unfortunately limited to about 37mph). Props to the team running this service, and their fortitude throughout the Great British Rain.

Abellio seem to be running direct City Airport Canning Town rail replacements. Just like last time this is pointless I have not seen a single passenger using the service.

Arriva are helping out Metroline on the Central Line Stratford to Redbridge rail rep service, saw a DX T and a LT along with Metroline TE, VW, VWH & VMH that are being used. Sullivan are doing the Stratford to Loughton route like they usually do whenever that part of the Central Line is closed.
Abellio have taken over from Ensign on running the Ilford to Woodford via Newbury Park & Hainault single deck only route with Abellio using dual door E200/MMC's from GW & TF and couple of Non-TFL contractors such as Trustybus with their new MMC, Stephensons with a E200 and Go Coach using a 6 cylinder Metrocity.

Had to use an SWR Rail Replacement service earlier this afternoon between Hounslow and Feltham and with the amount of ex-London buses that usually appear on those services, I was pleasantly surprised to end up with ex Arriva London VLA127, now owned by a company called Zinc. It was good to have an ALX400 in London again (albeit on a rail replacement service) however the bus itself didn't seem to be well maintained.

The bus was really nice to ride on. When I had broken down Saturday Morning in Windsor I had gotten on VLA127 to Hounslow Direct due to it being late. Was a pleasure being a passenger on and a brilliant ride.

Saw an ex-first TE on Garratt Lane doing a Rail Replacement this morning, wish I could've got on. Also saw a few buses parked outside Clapham Junction and an EH on Trinity Road so I'm guessing its the Clapham Jct - East Croydon replacement

RML2504 is currently out as an emergency draft in on SWR Hounslow - Weybridge until 2257. Exempt from PSVAR as it is an emergency job

The new Custom House bus stand is getting its first proper use this weekend! The DLR is closed Beckton to Prince Regent with buses running to Custom House.
On a side note DLR trains are parked between Cyprus and Beckton Park because work is taking place at Beckton Depot.

Arriva will be operating DL7 this weekend (Canning Town to Dagenham East) with help from Sullivan Buses, Metroline, Ensignbus and RATP. DL8 (Barking to Upminster) is only covered with early and late journeys.
