This week I did a daily commute from London to Nuneaton (changing at Rugby). This is the first time I have ridden Virgin's Pendolino's. One thing I noticed was a strange tone that would occasionaly play in the cabin. Of the 8 trains I caught I heard it on about half of them, 3 or 4 times each.
It wasn't the tone they play before a PA, but more a der dit type sound. Anyone know what it is for?

Sorry for sounding really vauge but its definately a signal for a staff member to go to a certain place, I'd been hearing it for years as I'm a bit of a regular Pendolino traveller as I go from Euston-Liverpool alot
