The Van Hools are indeed 12m long however all possible routes were tested many months ago. The 112 can't operate with them due to the bus station at North Finchley and hydrogen under pressure doesn't exactly end well. There aren't any other routes they could be used on which does make them a slight waste. Would route 95 present any issues? Or even, though further from PV, the 190? The 95 has a few tight spots in Northern Southall, these are made especially worse when the bus meets a 95 or 105 in the opposite direction too. I’m not 100%, but 12m could just about squeeze through.

Do you think that a route in the Heathrow area like the 111 or 285 could be operated from HZ?

There is a tight turn in the Park Royal area that would be a problem and the section between Lady Margaret Road and Ruislip Road might also be a problem.

The Van Hools are about 12m long, so wouldn't fit around the U10. Also would need to be a route that's not too far from PV. Perhaps the 112? You forgot to mention route 297 which is on the same tranche as 220 and 295 which makes it interesting, and the route could easily be retained with existing hybrid vehicles off route 295 which I'm still predicting. Honestly I was shocked to have to seen released so early, I was literally getting for December/January. I'm sad to see route 295 go, Metroline have done a good job with the route but I'm more sad to see route 226 leave especially as its been at WJ for 17 years, exciting to see how it does under RATP. I'd forgotten about the 297 as well. So yes, definitley plenty of places for the 65 plate VWHs to go 297 is one of those “safe” ML routes that terminates at AC, if they lose this one, that would be more interesting.

This is just a question: Does Cricklewood have too many double deckers for the 139 and 328?

I don't see why not but a mid-way changeover point is much more efficient on long routes like that, given the 5.5 hour domestic driving limit - allows them to squeeze more out of each duty =ie more efficient to operate and cheaper. You could only do one round for most of the day if you ran those from Hayes where changeovers would need to be at Heathrow end

I thought this because the 332 now has routemasters which means those TEHs are on the 139 and the VWHs on the 139 have moved to the 328 which means there would be some spares.

The 332 doesn't have a full allocation of LT's, it's still using roughly 4 TEH's.

I'd really like to see some VWHs straying on the 332, i understand it's already happened before but have never had the pleasure of seeing any on that route myself.
