But HD needs it’s N98 allocation for space. If the HD allocation for N98 then another night route needs to be moved it’s space or one of day routes will have to move. I'm not entirely sure of the numbers but surely the loss of the X140 and the fact that the 292 has a smaller PVR means at least some of the space issues at HD are rectified. They still have the N140 to clear a few buses out but they could run a few of the N16's allocation if it really still a problem. But if AC gets space constraints of its own then it makes a lot of sense for the N98 to be fully operated from there. I don’t think that means that space issues at HD has been rectified. W might need N16 for space.

Could possibly see HZ reopening temporarily to TFL work. 31/N31: PA to WJ 90: PA to HZ 297: PA to PV 483: PV to G 90 could also fit at PV alongside the 297 methinks if the 483 were to be moved out. I also think the 2 VMH's on the 120 would not move with it, two spare VWH's after the X140 loss moving to the 120.

Metroline won’t want to restrict themselves from being able to win more work and won’t have much of an opportunity to do that if they close one - PA, have one (at least partially) taken over - WJ, and don’t reopen another - Alperton. The 83/483 have a very large combined PVR, so squeezing the PA routes, keeping the 83/483 there plus the two already have would likely bring it to (if not very close to) full capacity. So realistically the only garage they’ll probably have to gain significantly in that part of London would be G, and HZ if they won enough to reopen it, and even then I don’t think HZ is very big. So yes imo the new Alperton base would definitely be needed to be able to make significant gains, considering they’re apparently having a restructuring I’m guessing this is exactly why they’re doing it The new Alperton could be planned as an all-electric garage from the outset (or at least laid out with full provision to become one) which would put Metroline in a very strong position. How in particular (just curious) would a garage planned to be all electric from the start put Metroline in a strong position? Why would it be any different to any other garage being wired up to accommodate electric buses?

Is PA being closed or being mothballed? The landlord was not seeking to renew the lease, so the decision to close was taken.

How would you ferry drivers from 31/90, KC/G garages respectively? Both very tricky. I don't see either of those happening. Do see the 297 moving to PV though. Or G providing there's enough space? 🤔 Awkward to ferry drivers to the routes though.

CELF opened around September 2007 What did Metroline do before Celf? CELF allows Metroline to do their MOTs, refurbishment and major maintenance on their bus fleet in-house. Before CELF, they like any other bus operator would have sent their buses off to an outside company to get these things done.

The new MCV Volvo electric demo has indicators which scroll like those on an Audi car. First for a bus?
