VWH2701 now has HT codes I wonder if they are permanent fixture for HT We’ll find out when the 481 starts at AH this Saturday! Metroline have always been fans on moving buses around between garages wirh the MHVs going to HT for the 4 with VWHs going to the 237 so I wouldn't be surprised if something different moved to AH for the 481.

We’ll find out when the 481 starts at AH this Saturday! Metroline have always been fans on moving buses around between garages wirh the MHVs going to HT for the 4 with VWHs going to the 237 so I wouldn't be surprised if something different moved to AH for the 481. It’s already been confirmed as former 306 VWHs (aka the ex Tower Transit batch), VWH2703-2704 have already moved back to Brentford [AH] for this. VWH2702-2707 matches the PVR of 6, the spare is unknown in this case. If I understand correctly the 64 reg that hung back at Holloway [HT] seem to have helped displace buses to the 28, so I’d expect them to be temporary. 640 is in need of 2 hybrids for September, wouldn’t be surprised if 2 went there, and 2 hung back to form the official 603 allocation (2 VMHs transferred in for it but since went back to PV). Either way HT shouldn’t need them once the 4 converts to electrics. On a side note VW1405-1406 appeared to have stayed back at HT instead of going to the 28, could be a good shout for the 697 plus one other. Now this part of the post is pure speculation, but I’m guessing the following are the allocations for the 3 gains this month (Even if 28/481 are basically confirmed) 28 - VW1247 / 1255 / 1266 / 1290-1299 / 1376 / 1389-1390 / 1393-1397 481 - VWH2702-2707 (Plus random spare?) E1 - VW1300-1306 (Plus random spare?) Note that’s all worked out from just looking at lvf rather than anything official, although 28 will probably not change. On another interesting side note, this is the first time the Voith set (VW1297-1306) have left Holloway [HT], meaning VW1034-1042/1046-1060/1062-1072) is officially the only set of VWs to have never left the garage they were new to (ignoring several of the early 10 reg going to WJ for type training on the 28). As another side note, it’s interesting that Metroline passed up on buying Westbourne Park [X] into 2013 and then potentially again (we’ll never know for sure) in 2021 and it’s worked out very well for them, some of the core work from there in 2013 has moved over (28, 31, 328), and other work such as the 266/295 was also won, although now lost (with the 266 having potential to go back currently). Even if capacity in that area is now very retrained, with just Greenford [G], Holloway [HT], Potters Bar [PB] and Willesden [AC] having space throughout their network of 14 garages/outstations or so. Definitely clawing it back from their heavy losses to Abellio and RATP during 2016-2022. The 697 loss brought them into the positives for PVR gains for the first time in ages (as per my tender list on the forum), they are currently at a net gain of 2, with many potential gains coming up, such as the 258/266 and the Sullivan Buses work.

I hope as of Tuesday when the W7 next ramps up to its full PVR of 17 that finally pushes the remaining near year-old WDEs into service!

I was under the impression though (which could be wrong, someone could correct me) that X in particular was facing chronic staff shortages, so one could infer it looks like drivers running for the hills from X at the first chance they get! There was someone on here who was a driver (don't know if they're still around) for the 28 at JE garage when it was at Wandsworth and when it was moved back to X they were really upset about it. Some route 28 drivers will have had to move progressively further north - from JE to X and now WJ.

Most of the W7's VWs (1289-1306) were used on Olympic services when brand new, only entering service on the W7 once the games had ended. Not sure what their official garage allocation was when they were on Olympic work, but IIRC the buses were parked at official Olympic sites overnight so wouldn't have been physically based at HT.

Couldnt catch which VMH but surely couldnt have been from the 274’s batch at HT so my only guess was an awkward deadrun from a curtailment of the 31’s original route. Guessing Swiss Cottage as 31 turns are common and down Avenue Road to Camden. I had followed it all the way and it was going up to Kentish Town.
