Metroline are needing 24 drivers imminently. Not sure what this signals. I think all the daily routes have been handed to GAL/Arriva/Stagecoach, I wonder if Metroline have potentially snapped up all the school routes.

On another note, how are Metroline workwise and driver availability more so on PB and HT? Wasn't sure if they are interested in simplistic routes, as some decent space.

LOTS reports that LT41-44, 46-48 haved moved to Metroline from Go Ahead for the 17. Would suggest a full LT allocation atleast on paper for the 17. I thought being a recent tender route 17 should use newer not older LTs.

Metroline are needing 24 drivers imminently. Not sure what this signals. At a guess probably to run increased services on the 231 and 317, which cover the 217 routing. Being the most major casualty it’ll probably be some time before we see any decent service on it while AR are trying to figure things out

According to a reliable source (Bus News group), the 327 is being operated from PB.

Highly likely, they wouldn’t lay on extra buses on the 231 for nothing, it’s quite a quiet route usually so it wouldn’t otherwise have a need for them. It seems to tally up with Metroline needing 24 drivers at short notice without actually taking on any of the Sullivan’s work (well before it was said they’d got the 327 anyway)

I’d say that’s a fair analysis yes. With its main purpose being to provide relief to the much busier 217, which does outclass it loadings wise. Not dead by any means, but its service levels seem adequate under normal circumstances. You don’t hear horror stories of users saying it should be 2000bph because no one can board it when they need to, anyway. I certainly reckon it struggled today though!

When I used rhe 217 today the 231 certainty was packed not everyone knew the 217 was a 217 as it has no blinds and I think many thought it was out of service and there’s also big bald tween the 217 today. expected of course due to the situation.
