Very true. Luckily I won't need to go anywhere on those days, but unfortunately there are many other people who need to get to/from work, uni, etc and it's going to be havoc for them we all need to get prepared for a 48hr complete tube strike from 9th of june to the 11th june

The last time there was strike across the whole network (which was called off after 24 hours) it was a nightmare in central London because of the added traffic, resulting in buses being turned pretty much everywhere
I remember trying to get to Camden but all buses from the east being turned at Kings Cross Thameslink. So there were very few services operating west from there, despite the pavement just getting busier and busier as each successive bus load emptied out. People either just kept waiting, or got fed up and walked.
Later that day I caught a bus from Paddington, and it took an hour just to get as far as Edgware Road (Circle Line) station. And it was a day like today, very hot and sunny, so not the best day for being stuck on a bus.
Unless you can catch train into town and walk from the station then I would recommend planning to stay out of central London. Hopefully the strike will be called off before then.

Some of the RMTs demands would be deemed hopeful during boom times, they are quite mad during a recession.
A couple of weeks ago a Pay report said average private sector pay has fallen 7% this year. The fall wasn't this much in Public sector.
Personally I know someone whose firm has cut pay by 10% across the board as an alternative to job cuts. It was accepted as better than being on dole. In contrast the RMT wants 5% pay rise and shorter hours. I forecast this strike will get called off if tube staff value their safety from irate inconvienienced passengers

If he (Crowe) is lucky the membership will just laugh in his face and tell him to walk away in short jerky movements. If he is not, the great British Public, who have really had a gutful with our MPs (of ALL colours), will visit the same aprobrium on Crowe that he so richly deserves. Bet Crowe would NOT like his salary, perks and bonuses published either!

Funny how quickly 7/7 has been forgotten - I'll never forgot that morning, when a 'gentleman' directed a very nasty torrent of abuse at a member of station staff whilst we were evacuating the network. I hope he regretted that when he found out why he was being evacuated. Point is, no matter what the situation, our staff are not there purely to take such abuse - and if we are expected to, then damm right we should be paid for it!

It appears at the moment talks have broken down, so strike is currently on RMT is now quoting the number of managers (123) getting over £100k salary/bonus
Strike officially runs 18:59 on Tuesday 9th until 18:58 on Thursday 11th Doubt if full service will resume until Friday morning so could affect 3 evenings

Could be worse - you might just get a battered TP instead ;D Seriously though I wish you luck getting to Euston as it will be a nightmare just getting around - hope it's not too stressful for you.
