Hi All, I am trying to work out how trains are going to run to the new flying junction at Canning Town from Beckton. Can anybody help are there any diagrams? I assume there is going to be 3 tracks leading away from Royal Victoria towards Canning Town? I believe the bridge will come into use from May after the 9day closure; will there be some type of crossover built to allow trains to get over to the flyover? I assume once the flyover open the old 2 tracks leading round to Canning Town will be remodelled to connect to the lower platforms at Canning Town? I can't get my head around how trains will get from the lower platforms round to R Victoria? Sorry if that don't make any sense

There is a diagram in current (May) Modern railways magazine as part of a 4 page article its on page 68 if you want a quick look at a newsagent
The flyover carries trains towards Becton from existing high level DLR platforms. The Stratford branch uses the former BR platform (partially rebuilt)
Article confirms Stratford trains will go to both Becton and Woolwich when line opens in July 2010, with at least 6 trains per hour on Stratford branch

Should hopefully make my journey to uni much quicker

Erm, i think you'll find its general junction work, i.e, fitting points in at relevant places. The DLR doesn't exactly work on signals like the tube or NR services.
Work seems to be progressing very well though. The "skeletons" of the new stations can be seen between Stratford and Canning Town while Royal Victoria is having its new platform/s built too

Going past Stratford the other day, I was very suprised to see how much they have done at the old platforms 1&2. All the track is already up. And its only been around 2 weeks since its been closed

OmniCityLondon is correct. Signalling does not just mean having red and green lights on a pole, the DLR still needs it to track where trains are to enable automatic operation.

Ah, but i did cover my back by stating that it does't work on a conventional signal system Either way, i do apologise. Still the DLR's system must pretty complex to deal with the amount of traffic that goes through junctions like Canning Town and Poplar? Just slightly annoying they've had to shut the line during UEL's exams at Cyprus
