Passing through Clapham Junction just now I saw a couple of sad unloved class 701s sitting in the sidings. Are the 701s ever going to enter service or are they going to be rejected and either sent elsewhere or to a one way ticket to the crusher?

Last I heard is that modifications were needed, and these are now being done Some were isolated in case a faulty capacitor blew a cover over at solebar height and it hit someone (something similar happened to a 345)

Yesterday I saw 701042 passing Raynes Park for Wimbledon depot Oh, I see them sitting around in sidings all the time, and occasionally running around on test, but as a very long suffering SWR commuter who is fed up to the teeth with riding on tired worn out class 455s, I’d very much like to see the 701s running around taking me to work as soon as possible.

Trust me the 701s are gonna get cancelled Huge waste of money if they get cancelled now that they are pretty much all built. Not only would the cost of the trains be wasted but Network Rail has spent huge sums building a new train are depot in Feltham for the 701s and increased services. I doubt they will get at this hugely advanced stage.

Trust me the 701s are gonna get cancelled Are you confirming this or is this what you will expect to happen? The whole situation has been an absolute joke.

Trust me the 701s are gonna get cancelled I'll wait and see what happens. The 455 fleet will need replacing sooner rather than later

No service on the Barnes Bridge line until next Monday. Structural issues on the bridge.

The first Class 458 has been reverted to 4 cars and has received the new livery. They will be classified as 458/4 I believe. http://instagr.am/p/CldWn65LpeX to be fair, looks pretty good.
