I notice LondonBusRoutes.net has been updated to show that the new 200 contract will start on this coming Saturday the 22nd of May. I wonder if we can expect the Optares to start trickling into service around that date? This is a bit confusing as the contract began on February 20th? I wonder if that’s just the date when the Me’s will enter service, providing Optare have managed to deliver most of them by now. The new contract didn't start on February the 20th, it was mentioned then that the old contract was extended until the Optares had arrived, presumably to get the maximum life out of the electric and to avoid electric prices being paid with Diesel powered buses.

I seem to have missed that somewhere, cheers!

Do you know what buses the river road school routes will have will be the MHV's from the 63 or WHV's that currently being used at Merton for the 200 or the Wvl's from the 180.

I wonder if the plan relies on future tender results, the 63s MHVs would make a perfect 13 bid out of Stockwell. They used to run the 24 so the 13 is a very realistic possibility, obviously not to mention PB were further from the 82 when they ran it. However should such tenders not be successful then the RR school routes could be a back up home.

Almost all the runs start/finish at Finchley, that's the natural point of the service, so it would be difficult to run it from the Victoria end. It'd probably actually be better to run from NP, based on that. Whereas the 24 has a bit more of a balance. Reliefs would be relatively easy, there's a rest facility at Victoria plus a quick tube journey to Stockwell but paying 60-90 mins for positioning runs would be very expensive. PB is only 20 minutes from Finchley. Makes it very easy to operate.

If not the Sutton routes are a likely retain for Go Ahead so could be utilised there on something like the 154.

There is something wrong with that last photo. Why is that C3 blinded for Colliers Wood? Definitely wrong blinds there.

I'm surprised that there's still a Tower Transit MetroDecker in the build stages.

I'm surprised that there's still a Tower Transit MetroDecker in the build stages. The last photo seems to show the rear Metrodecker on the C3 to Colliers Wood Funnily enough the C3 was based at Merton from August '95 until October '96 so the combination of blindsets would've been on the relevant buses of the time.
