Are these the ones with purple seat covers rather than the blue ones as I saw one today at Shadwell.

but there is some good news for DLR passengers 3-car services have now started being phased into operation to stratford (it has only happen previously on strike days and for testing) I noticed that at 22:25, last night with a train stood at Pudding Mill Lane bound for Canary wharf making the most of the SDO Selective door operation due to a narrow platform. Are these the ones with purple seat covers rather than the blue ones as I saw one today at Shadwell. Vjaska, there is a way to tell if you saw a new train, the new B2007 Stock numbering start 104 with the last train being 155; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DLR_unit_109_at_Heron_Quays.JPG - B07 Stock Although i don't recall seeing the trains having purple interior more blue then anything, but forgive me if i am wrong, i don't tend to travel on the DLR that frequently.

IIRC the 07 stock are numbered from 101 to 155. The 'missing' numbers (due to sales. reuse of previous numbers and so on) in the series 01 to 155 are 17-21 inclusive, and 100.

I Made an error in my previous statement, thanks for highlighting that Bighat.
The B07 consists of 24 units - 101 to 124 which were delivered in 2007
The B09 Consists of 30 units - 125 - 155 where were delivered in 2009

Ahh the new trains are black at the front and less slopey. Now I know I've yet to get one. Thanks 'TA1' TBH, I only saw one train with this seating as all the others I saw and the one I was on had the blue with pattern design (yellow involved as well) so possibly this is the new seating to be used.

They're not so much less slopy, but more curvy compared to the older stock. I read that reply whilst on the DLR from Tower Gateway actually, with the old seating having blue, yellow and a purple kind of colour in it whilst the new ones have 3 different shades of blue on the Royal Blue seats....i think ;D Also, the Woolwich Arsenal line has started to run 3 car services, but not regularly just yet. Noticed this a couple of weeks ago while at Canning Town BUT they seem to have gone back to 2 car for the time being. TBH, I can't bloody wait for the Beckton line to get them, but they may come too late for me

Would have made more sense to utilise the extra units on the Beckton line and create a service of every 3-4 minutes. Would have stopped the stupid overcrowding caused by them and us UEL students all leaving together

This seems to be the nearest to a DLR thread. Although DLR website is showing the opening of Stratford International line (an April press release) as at least a year before the Olympics (ie within next 3 weeks), apparently there are further delays and might open later (but before Westfield opens mid Sept) taken from an article on this extension in latest Modern Railways magazine
For those interested, latest Modern Railways has a lot of London stuff this month including the new signalling on Jubilee and Victoria lines, a special feature on Crossrail and some brief details of new Siemens Thameslink fleet (just announced before it went to press)

Well come to think of it, I saw at least 3 to 5 DLR trains on testing at Stratford heading for Stratford International. This was this morning around 9:30.
