Maybe our resident TFL mob can answer this for me. I reported a fault on PVL43 last night (to BX) and was told this is the normal now following a recent update The fault. No route or destination announcements when only opening the front doors. Now I understand that perhaps it announces the route and destination a bit too much, but surely it would be more benifical for it to announce on the front doors rather than the rear doors...just my tupppence worth.

A colleague has confirmed the following. In fact I noticed this was the case last night on the 96. I can confirm that this is not correct... The bus stopping sign will go off as soon as the door opens, and it should announce ‘N89 to wherever’ as normal. No requirement for the back doors to be opened. Lol im sure a lot of the management at that depot will get into trouble now. Is LG/LC trying to cut costs because they may be doing this to cut the cost of the engineer fixing it.

No because it was STILL marked down as a fault because the person I reported it too wasn't 100% sure. Thanks for the confirmation beaver, I shall be able to tell them they are wrong

The engineers at the garage don't fix problems with iBus - they have to get someone in from tfl to do it. Therefore, it is in their interest to get it fixed asap!
